visor rattle

does anyone notice that the mirror cover on the driver side visor rattles when it is down? it seems is if the entire flap is loose. on my 00 tl its hinged in place so no chance of movement, but on the 04 it does not appear to be secured at all.

Easy fix - I found some felt "dots" with adhesive backs at www.mcmaster.com. They fixed it in seconds.

I asked my dealer when I took it in for service and they installed little felt dots for me.

I really do not believe it is the lid. As I posted before it appears to be the vanity light in the headliner hitting the mirror cover. Pull your visor down a bit or put some material between the light and the cover to see if it goes away. Many times people mistake that one for a dash rattle. My S2000 did it as well, it took me close to a year to figure it out...

Since they put the felt on the cover the rattle has stopped. It really was the cover on mine.

I used little self-stick rubber bumpers on the mirror. They're exactly like what you see in the corners of the doors of kitchen cabinets to keep the door from slamming. I used them in a few strategic locations throughout the interior to eliminate buzzes and other noises. You can get them in Home Depot, probably right next to the felt ones. The reason I used the rubber is that the felt was only available in green, while the rubber is clear and you can barely see it.

I also put little rubber stops on the corners to get rid of the rattle. The funny thing about this is that Acura have the same visors in the TSX but they put factor installed rubber pieces on the TSX, go figure.

I bought clear plastic rubber dots. They look much better than black rubber or felt. I bought them at the local hardware store and they stopped the rattle. They look like they came from the factory BTW, being clear, you don't even notice them.

I had a rattle from the visor, but it turned out to be a loose clip (the one on the right hand side)

I have both the mirror cover rattle against the vanity light as well as the previously mentioned right-side clip rattle... how did you get rid of the clip rattle? It is the piece that is connected to the headliner that is not secured firmly in place for me. Hoping to fix both this weekend....
