Visibility in Rain
Visibility in Rain
I'm in CT and needless to say I've been driving in the rain alot. I've noticed the rear window will accumulate water and reduce visibility.
Is Rain-X safe to use for the windows and mirrors? In my previous cars I would usually avoid the front windshield due to the wiper drag.

rain-x is good only if you keep up with it, if you don't keep re-applying it, you'll get this grimey filmy shit on your windsheild after a long period of time and your wipers won't work well and will cause them to vibrate quite a bit while they're moving back and forth
if you keep up with it, its a hot product

Rain X is good, however Rain X Window Cleaner is Better. It not only cleans your windows, but each time you clean them it applies the Rain X product.!!!
So you are killing two sea gulls with one Alka Seltzer!!! woohoo!
P.S......The window cleaner even comes with its own micro fiber cloth in the cap! You cant fucking beat that with a stick!

Just so you have both sides of the story, I hate Rain-X.
After applying it one time a couple years ago, I found it left a film that made it look like a foggy day whan the wipers swept across it. Kinda like when you get that hot wax crap on your windshield.
To get it off, I finally had to use Dutch Cleanser powder on my windshield. Then I found it had glommed onto my wiper blades, too, so I had to clean them up, too. I think it's nasty stuff, and I chucked the bottle as soon as I got all that crap off my glass.
It may be okay for your back glass, but I wouldn't recommend anyone put it on their windshield ... I consider it a safety hazard since it reduces visibility and causes halos around lights at night.
(BTW, I feel the same way about that stuff called Glass Wax. Produces same general effects.)

^-Did you apply it correctly? I've never run into that problem before and one of the garages I used to work for was an "installer." Good thing to keep an eye out for, however.
