Vinyl wrap

Anyone do any vinyl wrapping to their car? I was thinking about doing my side mirrors and door handles black... I wasn't sure how difficult it is and how it holds up after a while.

I wrapped my grill with 3M 1080 CF vinyl.

It's pretty damn hard around the curves, but just gotta use a lot of heat and take your time.

Carbon fiber vinyl wrapped my grill front crossbar, rear license plate trim and various interior trim pieces. Wrapped my roof with gloss black vinyl. Just need heat and TONS of patience

Any tips on what you do at the ends? I've played with some vinyl but always have trouble with the edge. It just doesn't stick or stay down is it the generic eBay stuff?

i second con5tant's recommendation, I was looking into plasti-dip myself, you can use it on anything on your car, even do your whole car.

I was reading 3m dinoc is "permanent"and it's not designed for exterior use where as The new more expensive "hexis" is designed for exterior use

Nope. 3M isn't permanent and its warrantied for at least 4 years outdoors. It's the best stuff on the market.

I tied the black with glossifier on my hood (racing stripe), and it wasn't clossy at all. More of a Satin look. I think with some of the other colors, white, red, etc., it will look great. But, with the flat black not so much. What you can try is painting with the flat black. Build up a good thickness and then spray THAT using a gloss black spray paint. It should still peel off since it's painted over the rubber of the Plasi-dip.

I have some of that VHT clear caliper gloss spray i could throw over it i guess... It makes the black plasti dip pretty glossy.
