Asked salesperson and was informed that they are currently testing 2 bluetooth models(samsung and motorola)...possible 1st qtr '04 release. can anybody confirm???

They didn't mention what models did they? I'll see if I can call a Verizon store locally to confirm this. Hopefully the Moto V600 is what they are testing, but I'm not sure if it works with Verizon's network.

 

I do know for sure that it is NOT the v600...it is a GSM phone!

 

I dropped by my local Verizon store and didn't find out anything. They knew nothing about new Bluetooth phones and said the only Bluetooth phone they had was a Samsung PDA that cost $500 ( and I don't think it will work either). The salesman didn't know there were different profiles within the Bluetooth standard and from what I remember that PDA requires a SD (secure digital) card to do Bluetooth.

This doesn't necessarily mean that Verizon won't have new phones next year, it just means that the folks at my local store didn't know anything.

 

Great if true. I don't want to lose that great Verizon coverage....

 

I had created a thread on cell phone providers a while back. There is no news, from verizon. There is a verizon petition on the push for bluetooth techonology on their network.

V600 looks to be available in Dec. / Jan on AT&T network.

Verizon has the best overall service in the US. I hope they do something soon.
