i just had a quick question but kinda off subject, when i bought the car i didn't get a valet key. Did you guys get a valet key when you bought the car. I only recieved to set of keys.

 

Supposedly, its in the owners manual, or so I've read. Don't own a 3rd gen, don't have the manual either, but thats what i've read here. something to do with people stealing cars because people left he owners manual, hence the valet key, in the glove compartment.

 

i was just wondering where everyone recieved there valet key. Did you guys receive it when you bought your car or do we have to go out and buy one?

 

I received 2 fobs, 2 keys and the valet key at the time of purchase.

 

same as above.2 fob 2 key 1 valet key at the time of purchase

 

i never recieved the valet key so what should i do. i bought the car about a year ago.

 

You should have received it with your manuals, fobs, and keys. I'd go back to the dealer and ask for the valet key. They should provide it, if not, call Acura customer service and explain the situation. They should help you out.

 

Did you get a remote start for the car? If you did the valet key is used to activate the remote start since it is wired into the ignition behind the dash. If the TL doesn't have a remote start then you should have gotten three keys.

Did you buy the car new or used? If you got it used then you most likely have a remote start and just need to get a fob to use it.

 

its depends,,sometime the one that sold the car lost the key or keep it as for memories of the car then the dealer wont have it to give to the buyer at the time of purchase..whatever key the dealer got then that what they will give to the buyer unles the buyer was quick enough to ask is he/she suppose to get another key for spare then the dealer will take care of it as costumer courtesy to him/her

 

no i bought it brand new from the dealership and it doesn't have a remote start. i'll try looking in the manual to see if there is one in there before i go off to work but i might just have to call the dealership and complain.

 

If I were you, I'd go in and demand a brand new set of keys altogether at their expense. But thats me being paranoid. I know I couldn't sleep at night if I knew I don't have all the keys to the car in my posession.
