Upgrading light/garage console to one with sunglass holder

Replacing light/garage opener console with a different unit. I was wondering if anyone here has replaced the light/garage console from our car with a different one from Acura or Honda. I am very annoyed that this unit doesn't have a sunglass holder like most other models do.

There seems to be plenty of room to use another unit that will fit as if it was made for our car, I just have to figure out which one to use. I'm thinking the MDX one will fit flush, the TSX is another option. If anyone has done this switch or can tell me which ones are fesibible I would be very grateful. Thank you.

In for the replies.

I used the sunglass holder in my 2G TL allll the time, and was extremely disappointed to see the 3rd gen doesn't have one. Now I throw my sunglasses in the cup-holder or onto the seat like a peasant.

It seems like Acura dropped the ball only on the 3G TL as the same years TSX and MDX have the sunglass holder. They went back to the holder in the 4G, and I can't emphasize how much I dislike the holder in the map pocket.

If no one has changed it or knows what will fit as a replacement, I'll make a trip to the local pick your part and try out the different models. I'll update the thread with pictures with what works if any.

The 3G TL has two sunglasses holders- the partitioned square nearest the occupant in each front door map pocket.

Clearly one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen for a sunglass holder.

I had this in my 2004 Accord. I loved it! Perhaps that would fit! I'm guessing they did not include it because of the BT module.

IMO, using sunglasses holder isn't the best idea in the summer. I've had 2 pairs of RX sunglasses split due to heat stress from leaving them in the car....
