The asking price is spot on for a car enthusiast that appreciates what it is.

Wow, only 22K miles? I don't know the back story, did the first attempt to sell fall through or is this the second owner now trying to resell it?

It's definitely a unicorn, but worth a $9.5K premium?? Pretty sure he won't get asking price for it, but who knows?

Maybe it's just me, but I suspect there are plenty of folks out there willing to pay somewhere in the fifteen to seventeen thousand range, I mean after all, one of the 2006 cars I wanted to buy ultimately went for fourteen thousand (2006 Redondo/Parchment 6MT practically in showroom condition with 20,300 miles on it).

^^^^ yeah, if I was in the market, I'd give that in a heart beat, but not $22.5K...

Agreed, trying to snag $22,500 for that car suggests the seller is borderline on crack.

Then again, if he/she gets that amount, maybe he/she is a genius.

Maybe at $22.5k, he's starting high, knowing he'll have to come down. But he'll still make great coin on it.

Might be the four owners,

1st guy bought from Honda
2nd James
3rd Some elder guy bought the car locate in MD (according to James post)
4th guy (I suspect) since the car now have NJ plate

I saw the car listing 3 times already the first two time listed $26,500 about a year and half apart.

Car enthusiast or not, to pay a PREMIUM price for a 10+ year Luxury Sports Sedan that is FWD is just plain dumb. There are SO many other GREAT cars you can purchase in that price range (23-25k) in which a TRUE car enthusiast would be looking at instead of a Acura TL Type S. As nice as the Acura TL-S is, sorry I would not choose it over a BMW M3, 5 series, Merc E55 AMG, C63 AMG, Lexus GS350, Audi S4 and the list goes on and on and on. Unless your a collector and this is like your DREAM car, you have to be out of your mind to pick a 10+ yr old Acura TL over any of the cars I listed above especially if your a car "enthusiast".

^^^ So true, to each their own. Put it this way, if you had a choice and money was not an issue, would you still choose to dive a 10+ year old Acura.

If money wasn't an issue, what's stopping me from getting an pristine 3G Type S with the timeless body style AND getting another car?

Your argument is invalidated

Because that Acura TL just be sitting there outside on the curb or driveway while your enjoying your other car. Trying you validate your point to over spend for a 10 year old Acura TL-S is moot, if it was so desirable why has it not sold yet? At the end of the day, TRUE car enthusiasts do not dream about owning or driving a 2007-2008 Acura TL Type S. People buy these cars because they are good value. As for opinions goes, I guess my opinion is the majority since the MAJORITY would not pick this 2007 Acura TL Type S priced at $22,000, or it would have been sold by now.

Someone could be a big fan and put it in their garage or warehouse with their other 30/40/50 favorite cars to add to their collection..............

Just as much as you trying to validate your point that no one will buy this car.. It may not be for you but SOMEONE will buy it.

People that collect cars, typically do not waste their time with cars like these, yes your right, someone COULD but highly unlikely. Hardcore Honda collectors go after very popular sought after Honda/Acura that was made outside the United States. The 3rd Gen TL as nice looking as it is, was not a very popular platform (Probably since it was made here in Ohio), hence the small aftermarket support. I'd believe if it was a NSX, DC2 Type R, and even a DB2 teggy.

Your right it is not for me as I already own a 2008 KBP 6sp and I did not pay nearly as much for the car. Also I did not say NO ONE will buy this car, I said a TRUE car enthusiast would chose another platform for the same amount of money. Big difference, I know this is a Acura forum and a TL sub forum where there are a lot of Honda/Acura enthusiasts here, but really, for the ones who purchased their TL new and paid dealer price, how many of you wanted something more expensive but it was not in the budget? Most of the old 3G members that had really nice 3rd Gens have moved on to above mentioned platforms, hmm wonder why?

Behold The IMPRESSIVE CAR COLLECTION Of Bill Gates, One Of The Richest People In The World!!! WHICH ONE IS YOUR FAVORITE? - NO Car NO Fun! Muscle Cars and Power Cars! |
Don't see any Acura or Honda in his car collection

Besides the NSX didn't see any 3rd Gen TLs

Coolest cars in Jay Leno's garage - Business Insider
Don't seen any 3g acura tl being highlighted.

I can go on, your statement is again moot. Not trying to disrespect the 3G TL, if your a hardcore 3G fanboi, I can understand I hit a nerve but AGAIN TRUE CAR ENTHUSIASTS, especially car collectors and aficionados do not waster their time with cars like these.

You can keep on going on about how its MY OPINION, and your RIGHT it is MY opinion. But from where I stand MY OPINION is the MAJORITY and yours is the minority to defend that the car posted for sale is worth its asking price.

Funny that you feel so adamant about 'winning' this trivial dick swinging contest of opinions.. there is no winner. It's all subjective yet you keep trying to objectively analyze it.

Beautiful car. Would I pay $22.5K for it? No way. But I'd also price it high if I were the seller, assuming I wasn't in a hurry to sell.

Thanks for the links!

Yeah, looks like 4th owner, unless the 3rd owner moved from Md to NJ. James sold it to the 3rd owner in Md for $24K in May of 2015...

Some Acura enthusiasts really seek out the TL, because it is actually not available in Japan, so it is "cool" to own a left hand drive manual TL type S in Japan, defacto making the TL JDM as fuck lmao. Actually I don't know how cool it is, but there are people like that.

You can buy a brand new civic Si for 24K. As a daily it will be more practical, no maintenance for a long time, way more modern tech, basically similar performance with much greater room to mode hp. You can turn up the boost on a stock Si and be beyond 3G TL performance with all basic bolt ons. For me personally it just doesnt make sense. I don't see how an M3 or e63 will be cheaper though. Maybe to get into, but even at 22K those cars will be older or higher mileage or have some sort of issue needing fixed or maintenance not done.

The Japanese "drift king" test drove the TL-S MT when new and he actually impress with the engine response and suspension tuning, in one of the statement he said "why Honda doesn't sell these car in Japan?"

Looks like he dropped the price to $21K and it still didn't sell. Not surprised....
