Unfortunately I have to let my pristine '08 TL go

Had knee surgery and now it is very difficult getting in and out of the car. Among all my cars, this is my favorite. Although we have one SUV (wife's), I need another SUV so the TL has to go.

What should I ask for? It's pristine, one owner, 08 TL Tech with technology Navi package, Blk/Blk, and low 42k highway miles (60mi round trip work commute)? No accidents and no issues whatsoever. Dealer serviced and ready to go?

Thoughts?

Also, it's been a while since I posted, is there a classified section to place an ad? I searched but couldn't find one? Thanks for any feedback!

If you truly love this car I'd say keep it. How bad was the knee surgery? Recovery time?

Many people would say you could always get another one in the future, but you never know what the problems that TL could give you. All you know now is that your TL has taken care of you, so keep it.

It has been months and it's my left knee so getting into this low car with the right foote first like we normally do is not an option as the left knee has to bear the weight of a 6'3" guy. I have to sit and swing legs in. Getting tired of that!

Yeah, you'll get a lot for it. Wish you could keep it! I hope you reconsider!

Best of luck though.

go to PT...if you're going, then you need a new PT. BUT if the knee is really as bad as you lead us to believe with no hope to return to normalcy...sell the TL and buy an SUV (what are you looking at trying to get? ).

what's PT?

$17-$18k seems low, don't you think? kBB returns a suggested retail of $24.5k and private party in v good condition of $21.6k? Obvisously supply/demand dictates market prices! I could have gotten another $1500 off discount when i bought new if I went to a burgendy color. I know black/black brings more!

Would like to hear more opinions? Thx

Sorry to hear about ur knee. I have always been afraid of getting a knee or ankle injury with my 6sp and not being able to drive for an extended period of time. Hope ur knee gets better soon!

Ghost, if you decide to definitely sell, you can also post it in the Black Market here on Acurazine.

I have a harder time getting into my wife's Pilot than I do getting into my TL. In fact I have a harder time getting into all SUV's I've ever driven or sat in.

I don't see how getting an SUV fixes the problem because getting into a car on the left side of the vehicle is always going to require you to put weight on the left leg because your right foot has to go in first and thus leave the ground.

Unless of course, as you say, you just sit down sideways and then pull your legs in, in which case, you're no worse off now so just keep the TL.

I just think if your worst problem is having to plop down on the seat and then pull your legs in, that's not worth selling your TL and having to buy a more expensive vehicle.

Just to explain, For a 6'3" guy, it's easier to get into the SUV as I slide my right leg in, sit, then put my left leg in. For the TL, it's a tighter fit and I have longer travel before sitting which requires left leg to bear weight in an awkward angle. Believe me it's much easier climbing into the SUV if you are a big guy. Besides, I also want to get an older SUV to pull our boat. No, I don't want to use our new MDX for that. The kids will trash it from dragging in beach sand. No way

I'll say $20k is a very reasonable price. I got my type-s for $22k under 40k miles. Anything lower than $19k is a great deal for the buyer.
