TypeS headlight conversion question!!

Im doing the TypeS front end on my 06 and i found out the ballasts on an 06 WILL fit on the TypeS headlight...For my fogs i am using a 9006-h8 conversion harness ($25 from innovativewiring)..my only concern now is how to make the turn signal hookup...04-06 uses 7443 and 07-08 uses 1157...any suggestions?

I tried looking for a conversion harness but could not find anything at all. And i tried searching on this forum but the search wouldnt work for me

Just use the same socket as you have on the 06. You dont need to modify it unless you are pretty anal about it. You can fit right into it as long as the rubber ring are snug right into the assemble. It will not fall off while you are driving.

It's not the 06 ballast that has the problem of compatibility. It is the 04-05 ones that are different. That signal bulb harness is a problem. I tried many different ideas and couldn't come up with one that works.

Im probably mistaken, but why dont you just buy an 1157 bulb socket and just solder and rewire the ground, parking, turn signal wire?

Out of curiosity how much did you get the headlights for? I'm relieved that the 06 Ballasts work. One less thing to worry about. And to those wondering about my SN, it was created when I had a 2nd Gen Type S.

I agree. I did a type-s swap with base 07.......at the same time we swap the harness as well.

try asking the dealer ship for the harness? Might probably cost more than expected though...Im sure that they sell the 1157 socket seperately as well, this route will require some connectors you will have to find to connect to the pins of the socket.(I could be wrong, i dont know what the end of the 1157 socket looks like where the harness connects).

someone suggested to get #16 from here:
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...14sep4_b08.gif.

but then i dont how if that would plug directly in the 04-06 harness? Also i looked on Delray's site and there is different part #s between 07 and 08 type S's..

You can buy the sockets from www.acuraoemparts.com and you will need 06+ ballasts to make it work. Chinaman is selling a set in the BM.. PM him.

sooo... if you do this conversion what do you do with the DRL? What are they hooked up to? Or can you throw some other HIDs? Or foglights in there? I'm a headlight newb... sorry.

^ really? So I have no choice but to go with the lower fogs? I have an 06... so I havne't done any 'accord-fog-mod' or anything like that. So if I decide to just change the whole front to a Type-S front with lower fogs. I guess my current fog power supply can go to those right? Then, what do I wire the DRL's too since the 06 doesn't have them?
