not really because the type s has a more free flowing cat system and exhaust which I believe is 18% more free flowing so getting a full exhaust would benefit more for the base than type s. I do not think they are arguing about that though. What they are saying is that for the 5 grand to get the type s over the base can make the base just as fast/nice.

I have a '05 base auto TL, but I WISH I had a type S with the rear back up camera, two tone seats, sweet headlights and taillights, rear a spec, awesome quad exhaust, and not to mention the NAAAAAAASTY 6MT.

My next car will be an '08 type S FOR SURE!!!!! Definitely worth it IMO

I have a back up camera = 300 and it gave me DVD player in my Navigation. A seat is a seat, really. I cleared my headlights = free. I made my own "sweet tail lights", which are my avatar. If I am not mistaken, all TL's has an A-SPEC kit. Quads, you got me there, but my comptech exhaust is nice as well. "Nasty 6MT" that you speak of is also available in 04-08 base models as I have a 6MT. So for ~500 dollars instead of ~5k, its worth 4,500 to spend on a TYPE - S to get what you want?

Listen, I am not knocking a TYPE-S. I would love to own a type s, but I bought my car in 05. It is just not worth selling my car or getting ripped off on a trade and spending about 8-12k on a TYPE-S, not to mention if I ever find one I want with low miles and pristine condition. I just think some people need to do research before they put down the BASE. I say that because I read about 4 different people talking about the Brembos and 6MT in the TYPE-S when it was available in the Base.

LoL this is so true, in fact it is just a car, it's not even an amazing car, it's a nice reliable car. There are so many jack asses here that seem to think that the car is who they are when in fact they are just douche bags.

If I could buy a Type S today I would, but I wouldnt pay 10-12k to upgrade from my existing 6 speed TL.....the cars are too similar IMO and its not worth it to me. The one thing that you should absolutely have if you are capable of driving one is a manual. The TL to this day is one of the rare sport sedans that offer a manual (in the 6 cyl models) and its worth it times 10. Its a rather boring car without the manual IMO.

Agreed, I was surprised at how much more power the 3.5 has. The handling was the biggest upgrade though.
