I bought blacked out headlights on the bay and they are fine.
Many have gotten tails there and are happy
Could be the same place makes parts with different things stamped on them for OE and aftermarket use
As long as DOT is on them, you will be ok

I didnt realize we had aftermarket tail lamp options for our TL's?? Are you sure they are not OEM ones being sold on eBay for cheaper price? Please provide link.

I believe the type s tails on ebay are factory ones....but also more money than from Tim @ hondaacuraworld when you factor in the shipping

Some are OEM, some are aftermarket that look like OEM. The aftermarket ones are most likely made by the same company that makes the OEM ones. Quite a few of these are cheaper than OEM, even with shipping. As 01tl4tl said, as long as they're DOT, you're good.

Straying away from OEM may leave a margin for condensation. If the savings outweigh the cost, go for it. If they're minimal, get OEM ones on groupbuy with the sidemarkers for $289 shipped.

I say dont do it! I have seen smoked sidemarkers and the quality of them looks different from what the TL's TL-S' come with! some of the non-OEM lights are made by a company called depot. i mean, it looks like a carbon copy but you can run into all kinda fitment, condensation, etc. issues or maybe not. me personally, i would just go with OEM knowing that i got a FACTORY UPGRADE rather than a non-OEM one. my $.02

The lights that 99 posted look close to OEM but look at this link below. Is it just the protective plastic film or do the tails look like they have black trim instead of the OEM gunmetal color? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/06-07...3756.m20.l1116

sorry for the delay guys... and yes these taillight came out perfect! These are made by DEPO. Perfect fitment... very identical to OEM. Overall.. I'm very satisfied with these!! Also, they are stamped with DOT

only downfall is.. having to remove the rear bumper for installation!

Yes, the side markers were a direct fit, again... same as OEM. DEPO products are known to be good.

Can anyone tell me how to remove the tails, because I bought a set, but I can't remove the originals. I removed the four nuts that keep the tail in place, but I just could not remove the tail. Do I need to remove the bumper?

yes, you need to remove the bumper. if you do a search for "bumper removal" on here you will find a video that someone made of how to remove the rear bumper...it's actually fairly easy
