I'm one of those idiots that is want to make his base TL look a little more like a Type S, so I'm interested in tail lights. Has anyone done the overlay film smoke thing, they look OK not great but they are cheap. How about this kit

The films sometimes leaves a crease if not done correctly. I am not sure how anal you are about that. Some people have ordered their lights from depo and love them just depends on you and how much you are willing to spend.

 

Looking at them, they are made by DEPO, which numerous members have, so def. not a bad price.

 

yea, I have the depo lights as well. They look perfect and fit perfect. That looks like a pretty good price if you plan on buying the rear side markers as well, just get the set. I do have to say tho if your car is not a type s DO NOT put that type-s emblem on your car. I notice it is included in the auction.......it would be a mistake!

 

I just ordered the Depo Type-S tails and sides off the same auction... I read alot of the threads on here, and it seems alot of people have had good luck with them.

Agree with CarrieLynn about the type-S emblem, although it is NOT included in the auction... i would feel like the worlds biggest imposter... same reason I wouldnt think about putting the a-spec badge on until all the parts are on the car!!!


At the risk of hijacking the thread for a minute.... CarrieLynn -- what type rims do you have on your AM? I'm trying to find a set of 18s for my 06 AM 6MT, but the whole MT part is making it a pain in the ass to find a good set... I noticed yours on a couple of anthracite threads and really liked them!

 

18" gunmetal a-spec rims, and yes they will clear your brembo's

Well, yea but it depends on it you want to rock curbed up wheels or not
I bought mine from another member here and they are in pretty good condition. You can get them new but they are not cheap! I would suggest keeping your eye on the FS posts in the Black Market here. Gunmetal aspecs will turn up it just depends on what condition you want them in. Are you willing to refinish them or do you want some you can just throw on? That is what is gonna determine the price. i have those side markers and damn, they look nice.....

they are simple plug and play.....and the dude "fishcake" is nice dude.....shipped out mine in a day.....

plus i got tints from a guy on the forum and cut them (as i needed) and put them on the fronts and they back.....

Nice car, I'm not sure about that spoiler though. Some members have them, but in my opinion I think it makes the car look horrific. Once again just my opinion.

I want to sell my spoiler off but then the damn holes in the trunk.....prolly want to trade my spoiler + trunk for a trunk + deck lip
