Type S lower grills on '08 base

Hey guys,

I was wanting to get rid of the ugly base lower grills and swap them with the type s grills.

I've talked to ACKTL05 and he said you just have to cut a couple clips then rotate them.. Has anyone ever done this? If so can you post pics?

Thanks

bryce, you'll never learn if you dont get your hands on the project.

if Bruce said that they fit, by cutting a couple clips and then rotating them, why not believe bruce?

he's the man!!! and has done it before.
buy the lower grilles, then figure out how to do it, per Bruce.

Bruce isnt going to lie to you.

the thing is, I dont think any one has done it, or, its not documented here on acurazine.

if it has the general shape and per bruce "cut some tabs" then most likely it will work.
you just need to get your hands on it!

get further instructions from Bruce!!!

Get the type s lip. I have it over my base bumper. It removes them.

OR you could get the Type-S lip AND mod the lower grills and you'd get this:

I've tried to install TLS grill on my base TL. You would need to trim the sides to make them fit. Base bumper looks like its smiling and the TLS looks like its frowning.

This is a TLS front

If you flip them upside down it makes the grills look like base

You would need to trim the sides

Only this member I've seen modded the grills to fit

If all you wanted was pictures, why not just ask for pictures? You asked an expert and he told you it was possible.
