Two prior minor issues with my new TL fixed :)

So as some of you might recall, last week when I purchased my new TL I felt it took awhile to start up the engine and kept hearing a very slight "clank" sound when I first steped on the gas right after start up. Now with 300 miles on the odometer the car starts up quicker ( dont have to crank the engine that long ) and after putting in a fresh tank of 91 octane the clank noise is totally gone. A very minor rattle on the glove box was also eliminated when I placed a few items inside the glove box. Needless to say I am one happy camper

Sounds like your dealer may have saved a few bucks and put regular gas in the tank before delivery.

Exactly...specially because I arrived 30 min. before closing time and there are 2 gas stations within 50 feet of the dealership.

You can't get anything higher than 91 octane in California..

Funny how you guys mentioned that the dealer may have gotten cheap and put a lower octane fuel. If I recall, I believe that california-usa purchased his car at Cerritos Acura. I had a friend that purchased an '05 TL at Cerritos Acura back in May and he too experienced problems with the start-up for the first couple of weeks. After a couple hundred miles, those problems have disappeared. Makes me wonder if other dealerships may be filling up with cheap fuel.

Knocking is incredably horrible for the engine. Glad your first rattle was fixed, hopefully it is your lost.

My dealer gave me a slip and let me fill it up myself, now I know it was the right thing to do. Glad you got rid of your issues.
