flexible LED arrays. you'd have to cut the mirror cover housing, mount these somehow and wire them to the turn signals. POssible have to get a turn signal module... (which they have on this site as well)

any thoughts?

but if someone was to find a way to PROPERLY flush them into the mirror housing id do it

 

right, but to mount them flush in the mirror housing you would have to cut an opening for it

I guess the TSX turn signals are rice then...

 

Be patient and you will be able to buy an exact replacement in the color of your choice when the '05's come out in the Fall. The Acura lit most recently printed describes the turn signal mirrors. All Acuras will have them as the line catches up to the TL in wind tunnel, modern wedge design. The '05 RL has the signals in the mirrors. P. (Acura salesman)

 

How can you get a replacement when the wiring has to be in place. Something has to signal these mirrors that you're making a turn. Just having the light isn't enough.

 

well there ARE motors in the mirrors. i take it theres power in there somewhere

 

What Ken is refering to is, just having power isn't enough. It needs to be driven some how from the turn signal relays in order to flash.

 

If 05TL comes with turning signal stuff, how's about replacing by it?

 

The 04 TL WAS SUPPOSED to have the turn signal mirrors. It is even listed in the brochure for the car under "safety equipment".

MAYBE they dropped them at the last minute for cost reasons, but the wiring is already there? Any one know about this?

 

I'd bet it was either cost reasons or their supplier realized at the last minute they couldn't deliver .
You know we'll see 'em on the '05.

 

Lack of mirror signals is going to be the feature that differentiates the 04 from 05 and beyond (appearance-wise).

 

I will not replace turn signal mirrors if they dont tilt down when putting it to reverse. If aftermarket turn signals come in future for TL, and it doesnt have tilt feature, then no no if yes then YES YES

 

I looked at the power mirrors in the service manual and it does appear that there are a couple of wires in the harness that are not accounted for going to the mirrors. So the wiring to support he turn signals may be there.

The wiring diagram for the turn signals doesn't show wiring for the mirrors however.
