I have had 2 TL's...a base 6MT and a TL-S 6MT that I had tuned. I could definitely feel the difference in the tune and how the car reacted to it...but it was hard to quantify. After those I bought a car with real power and that made me realize I was spending a lot of money trying to make horse into a unicorn.
My suggestion would be to either just enjoy and lightly mod the TL-S to your liking and be happy with it's performance without diving too deep. Or buy it and contact gerzand about a rotrex kit and make it fast.
Otherwise and since money isn't an issue, get into a car with tons of power from factory like a hellcat or srt anything. Worst case, take thoi's suggestion and contact Hector.

Welcome to the boards...don't get fired up, nobody means you harm. This is the best car forum on the internet, I can assure you that.

After reading through this thread in it's entirety, I would now like to award the following party with the highly coveted Outstanding Wittiness and Relevant Fact Based Comebacks and Insults 2018 Award.
Congratulations Flipster. Your comentary on Tide pods not only left me breathless and howling but also brought a tear to my eye. We have all long suspected the fad of eating TidePods was simply a way for Tide to clean up the individuals that should have remained stains. I think I speak for everyone here when I say, thank you for your time and contributions.

Unbelievable you talk about the Facebook tl group and how idiotic they are then you see this post. I joined this site to seek and gain knowledge about the 3g TL because I own one. Here it is a person asks a question about tuning a tl and some of you go off why???? The fact that he doesn't own one yet is irrelevant doing research on a vehicle and the opportunities there are for modifications is actually a smart thing to do before you dish out the $$$, what if what you want out of the car isn't possible but you already bought it now you have to go through the process of selling it. Research is a great thing and we should all be grateful that we have this site to join us together in this passion we all have for the TL. There is enough b.s. out there and in the media it's not needed here we all have this interest and it's great this site is awesome and helps all of us try to keep it that way is all I'm saying....

I was up late the other night and was watching that documentary series about the cat tuner show. For sure, the first thing OP should do is but the car. Sec thig is to put in NOS to tuna it. NOS works on any cat. Auto is fine for NOS even it it has a sticker shift. Put on a NOS and you can even get a big one or a little. Neekey Peat that goes under the passnger seat so it doesnt look like you have tuna but your eally do.Then you can do some seirious rasing. I'm pretty sure I some acuras in that show the one i was watching had a big show with a lots of of doors and all the dodgerams came out to crash the cop cars and the tuna cars got away ejecto seato cuzzo!!! said the second main tuna guy (black) to the other main main tuna guy (dead). Ill see if i can find a pictures of the acura it might not have been a TS-L, but it was an Acura and its the same auto.
