Trying to decide on TSX or TL...

I have an 01 supercharged Mustang and an 00 Focus that I drive daily, the Mustang is for summer and weekends.

Anyway, I was considering keeping the Focus and selling the Stang for a Vette, OR upgrading the daily driver.

Im pretty much leaning towards the upgraded DD, but Im torn on the TL or TSX. I drive a lot for work, so I want Navi and Bluetooth for sure, I know that rules out an 04 TSX, but the 04 TL has bluetooth. So what do you think, basically. 04 TL or 06 TSX, both will be MT by the way.

TL has a LSD. TSX does not. From the sound of it, that should make the decision easy.

it all comes down to power - i4 vs v6. I picked v6 and never looked back.

TL also has front Brembo's, easy decision for me. But since the car is for you, drive both and see what moves and excites you more. Life's short, don't drive a boring car for daily driver.

If its a daily driver you may be more concerned with gas which the TSX has the edge. You already have the power fix in your V8's..As a daily driver I would go to a TSX as your fun car and daily driver I would do the TL

What kinda mileage does the TL get?

The Brembos are definately a nice plus. If I go TL itll be an 04, any problems with that year to look for?

Ask yourself this question - do I have breasts? If the answer is no, the TL is the obvious choice. Any other way, go with the TSX.

TL gets horrible gas mileage

my one regret/complaint with my 06 TL 5AT.

Used to drive a 99 Saturn. It was your typical GM trash, didn't even have power steering. But it did get 36mpg in the city and 44 on the highway. That car's gas mileage spoiled me though and the TL's ~21mpg in the city comparatively sucks.

Maybe its a little better with the 6-speed.

Most of my driving is highway too.

Horrible? Not really. For a 3500lb car with its power it does pretty well. Comparing apples to apples that is.

What kind of driving are you going to be doing? If it's highway and not to busy the TL is going to get you great gas mileage. With highway driving only I've gotten 32mph. With a mix I get 23-26 mph. Local driving it get 16-20 mph. I drive an auto.

My 06 TL 5AT gets 28-30 mpg highway and 17-20 mpg in town. Very good for 258 HP sedan.

Well, we all have breasts.

Oh, you must mean the female breasts that I like to look at, as opposed to the guy breasts I have and try to avoid looking at...
Sorry about the interruption. I'm going to put on my dress now and get in my TL...

To OP Blown: get the car that you like best on the test drive!

I use to get 23 mpg mix city/highway. Now with 5 mile drive to work and back I get 19mpg. But when I take it on the highway she saw 28+ mpg.

I get 28 MPG in a mostly highway (usually with traffic in the left lane), so I would not call the TL 6MT mileage bad. I can average 30 mpg when I light foot-it and don't exceed 70 mph. My '99 Civic Si got 30 mpg driving the same route and speeds as my TL's 28 mpg.

The TSX 6MT had roughly the same EPA highway rating when I bought my 2004 TL, so I doubt it would be much better.

So why didn't you get a Civic ? You should be old enough to know that you can't have your cake and eat it.

The TSX is a dog. The only 4 cylinder car I would pay over $25,000 for is this.

Since its a daily driver get the TSX for the gas mileage and more fun handling in the city. Its a four cylinder but you have a fun car also.
