trusted tint brand?
so this auto shop near me offers only high performance films made by Suntek and Madico. i know most people prefer lumar(sp?) and pinnacle F1 tints but i did a little research and these tints dont seem too bad but nothing beats personal experience so lets get some of your input on them!
BTW this is the site for their business.

i plan on doing 35% all around and probably leaving the rear windshield alone

got a 3m tint 20% about a month ago, never heard of moleskin, so i didn't have it put on...man am i sorry. i now have 2 window length scratches on the rear windows. i can live with these, but do not want anymore, so OP...get the moleskin or some type of felt put on to prevent scratching.
btw, not to thread jack, but does anyone know what type of felt to use, where to get it, n how to apply it.
im hesitant to even put my windows down at this point. tia

I have asked a couple of local shops in my area (Fremont, CA) and they all seem to use Suntek as well. I can't comment on the quality but try to find an authorized llumar and see what the difference in cost is. The installers themselves may have a better idea of the qualities of the tints..

just had mines done with Lumars ATC tint, comes with a lifetime warranty and does a good job of keeping the heat out. Huper Optiks i heard is very high end so expect to pay the high end price but well worth it i suppose

Huper and Formula 1 cost more because they are legit ceramic tint, it's expensive. The benefits are, it will not fade (no turning purple), ultimate heat rejection, and it won't screw with nav reception. You can expect to pay $500+ to have it installed.

the shop i plan on going to offers 180 for all 4 windows +2 little corners in the rear and the rear windshield itself.
nicourt, thanks for the personal review! your 45% looks like 35% to me but then that can mean when i get 35% itll look even darker =D

On their website it say "Dont let anyone take a knife to your car!" When they cut the tint they cut on the glass, your not scraching glass with an exacto knife just gently cutting tint, id prefer the tight fit of hand cut anyday.

Whatever brand you get just make sure its full ceramic and your good...but why would you leave the rear windshield tintless. If anything, thats where you should get the darkest tint.

mainly because its illegal and i dont feel like getting pulled over for it but i might shoot for like 50% or something

My tint was computer cut... the tint has no ragged edges that I have seen with every tint job that was cut on vehicle... No border around those pesky lil side windows.... and its exact to the visible edge everywhere else... Not a knock on your choice but to each his own but as my bio age states I've been driving and tinting things to drive or paying someone to for a long time (1st car 1976 age 16).... The computer die cut is the way to go, less chance for those ackward Homer moments or the waste of material (which drives up the price BTW)

If you go with Madico, get the Wincos (that's what I have), or their Advanced Ceramic. Rest of their films are just mediocre.
I would have gone with Huper Optik, but couldn't find anyone in my area that carries it.
