Is this true?

I have an 06 5AT TL and I'm beginning to notice a burning smell coming through the vents. It's not consistent and varies in intensity. I don't drive hard much at all and most of the time I'm stock in traffic. I currently have 32K miles. I found this post from someone on here,

"Acura puts a clear coat on all the engines when they come out of the manufacturer, they do this so when the cars go overseas the salt for the sea or anything else desnt corode the engine. The clear coat comes off at around 30k miles usually the smell starts to come when you are flooring it and it starts to heat up. Most all cars have it"

Is that a true statement? That may be what I'm currently experiencing.

Check you coolant levels and make sure you have done regular oil changes, also make sure your power steering fluid and your brake fluid are not running low

In my previous car coolant was leaking out of one of the hose clamps causing a burning smell

Lastly just make sure there aren't any loose vac lines

Hm...could be true, but personally speaking, I don't EVER recall a burning smell; except for that one time when i did the bypass for my short ram way back when, but that was excess coolant.

prior to 5k miles when I'd push the car passed 100mph and I parked I could smell the "clutch burning scent" but I drive an auto... aside from that thats it

that could have also been brakes,100 mph/harsh braking causes a distinct smell. this burning smell's kinda like a burnt hair in a fresh perm.

I get the brakes smell plus the burnt hair perm smell.I notice the smell when she's running at higher rpm's(2-3) for example going on a steep uphill.
