Trip Computer Seems A Bit Inaccurate
I don't know if it's just my car, but the trip computer appears to be a bit inaccurate sometimes. Sometimes it would constantly say I'm averaging 21MPG, but I know for a fact that I'm averaging more than that when traveling on the highway. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

i.e. The longer you let the trip computer go without resetting it, the less sensitive the AMPG becomes to your current driving. It at that point is a long term average.

And yes, many of us have found the AMPG to be VERY accurate across a tank of gas, it always matches almost prefectly and probably is actually more accurate than the miles travelled/gallons filled up.

Does anyone know whether the maximum number of hours (for calculating mpg) is capped at 99.99 hours? I am an owner of a new 06 TL, and have logged in less than 100 hours on the car.

Honestly you reset it however often you want.
If you want to measure MPG over two weeks, then you reset every two weeks. If you want to measure you MPG per day then you reset it once per day. If you leedogg says he wants to know his instant MPG, then you reset it whenever you want to know.
No magic answer, it's up to you.

I reset every time I get gas.
Last year, I kept a manual log to see how accurate the MID was. This was done for almost a year, through all seasons and varied driving conditions. I was surprised to find that it was incredibly accurate. I average about 21 mpg.

When I want to see how my freeway MPG is, I reset it while I'm on a long trip (1-2 hours). Otherwise it will average in your city street driving also. But yeah, if you want to see your average MPG throughout 1-2 weeks, the amount of time it'll take to empty a tank, then reset it when you fill up.

I'll just go ahead and reset it every time I gas up.
BTW, a bit off topic, but at 2300 miles, the car appears to have a little more "get up and go" than before. I guess the engine is loosing up. Actually was able to kill one the latest generation Accord V6 couple from a dead stop w/ VSA on
