Hi, been with the car for three months now and with 3000 miles, been noticing the trip computer is stuck at 20mpg, although in the last few fill ups I've been calculating the total number of miles I driven since the last fill up divided by the number of gallons I buy and I usually get 23 mpg if I do it that way. the car milage improved since the time I bought it, no question about that but the trip computer still show 20 mpg (which is what i actually used to get during the first 1000 miles). so is the trip computer malfunctioning?

 

Hey, from what I know, the computer keeps track of all your trips and their averages until you reset it.

So in order to actually acquire an accurate mpg, fill up and reset, and you will get better numbers. The computer averages all of your trips, not just one.

 

oh, ok, I used to only reset the milage at fill up, I'll reset both now and see how would it do. thanx
