Take the 31 and divide it by 6. Then take the 29 and multiply it by pie then subtract the first figure you got. Divide that by .0678 and you'll get it how fast you were driving.

Yes

Just because it's rated for 29 doesn't mean it's going to stop right at 29. Run your A/C low and average like 65mph and you'll be close to 35 or more.

City is rated at 19 and before I switched tires I was making 24 in the city.

But only traveling 28 miles is an inaccurate reading really, you need to run further to get a more accurate MPG reading.

Try the entire tank. I've gotten it to say ">50" . I didn't reset it until I got on the highway like .2 miles after filling up. Then I hit 100 and it went down to the high 20's

^^^ David, city MPG depends on driving habit....

easy on the throttle, coast to stops, shifting early are couple things which will yield you better city mpg....

They were BFGoodrich G-Force, noisiest tires I've ever heard though, sounds like you're in a lifted truck. Could be because I switched wheel sizes as well though but I'm leaning towards the stickier summer tires.

I'm pretty easy on the throttle and never use sport shift so it usually changes gears at around 3k. but he said his tires affected his mpg so I was wondering what type of tires were most advantageous.

Definitely stay away from Ultra High Performance summer tires that is if you're looking for better MPG. I don't really care, still making 21-22.

I'm going to vote no... I measure my gas after every fill up and my MID constantly says 28. However, I've not once calculated more than 26 when I calculate by hand (over at least 15 fill-ups).

i tried it to find out how far I can go and hence stalled with no gas. This is what came from my "experiment"

When the light comes on you have ~3 gallons in there....so depending on the type of driving/mileage you get, you can calculate
Once the range goes to ZERO, you have ~1.25-1.5 gallons in there....

Don't you put like 5 gallons at a time or something at each stop?

Do you get more mileage by only putting in 5 at a time?

gas weighs ~6lbs per gallon
full tank = 17 gallons
i put in 5 gallons

12 gallons x 6 = 72lbs....

so am carrying 72 lbs less

From all the heat, summer tires are great.
