Transmission issue

I let someone use my car “2008 Acura TL 3.2L” for a week, now it acts like it’s slipping and won’t go above 10 mph I’m told. My wife needs it but I’m across the country for a month. When put in manual mode it shifts no problem. Has anyone had this happen before? I’m thinking electrical issue. It has a vsa light on after you start driving but that’s not new. Hasn’t been an issue so didn’t bother looking into it but think it’s probably a brake switch. Searched for hours last night with no luck. If working manually do you think it’s safe to drive for a week like that? After that it can sit till I’m back on the 29th. Thanks in advance.
