transmission fluid on E

as the title states, yes pretty empty when I checked yesterday. I realize this is something I should have checked, regardless of whether or not I bought it from a friend whose dad owns two mechanic shops 😭🤣. So yes, I have no transmission fluid, surprisingly still driving for now. My question is in regards to the fluid, because I know there is a lot of talk about what the best methods for doing the fluid drain and fill etc, but I don't even have fluid. Will filling it with brand new fluid shock the system? if so, what is you guys' best recommendation. I have been leaning towards doing a mixture of DW-1 and Redline, but I am worried about how empty it is and don't want to shock it but would like to get this rectified asap.

side note* the lower mount bolt for my started suddenly became stripped and loosened up on my starter one day making horrible noises til I tightened it up but the lower one is stripped, not the bolt, the receiver in the transmission housing. I kind of already want to swap out the transmission anyways, so after this is taken care of, since I daily this car, I will get a accord transmission and I read somewhere about a shifter kit to help with that, anyone have that kit and have experience they care to share?

stick with adding DW-1. What i would do is still pop open the fill cap, then the drain bolt. then once the rest of whatever is in the system has drained out, put in fresh DW-1 fluid to the capacity (~3.5-4 qt). Shock? what's more shocking than running the car with little to no fluid

I appreciate you, will go about getting some fluid, and yeahhhh lol I guess I was more or less referring to shocking the system by just introducing new fluid, but considering there's none to begin with... lol thank you for your response though I'll get on it

Just to confirm, you brought the ATF (or its remnants) up to normal operating temp, parked the car on a level surface, shut engine off, pulled ATF dipstick & wiped it, reinserted and pulled it to find the ATF was no where on the dipstick?

not that it was nowhere on the stick at all, but far below the two dots pertaining to max and least I would assume

When its on level surface, shut the engine off and check the dipstick between 30-90 seconds for most accurate reading. this works for both motor and tranny fuild dipstick checks.
