Question Transmission Fluid Change Help

I just did the B service and apart from the oil change, I also replaced the cabin filter, thanks to this site. I also have Hawk brake pads on order.

Since the majority of the people here changed out to the GM Syncromesh tranny fluid, I decided to do the same. Now I located the bolt to drain out the fluid, but I couldn't find where to fill it! Can someone lend me a hand? Luckily I didn't begin, but I want to change it out ASAP.

Also another question, do I really need to replace the crush washers? I'm thinking I can just reuse them.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advanced....

keep the washers. the fill hole is on top of the tranny. really easy to see with your cai. there should be a factory check off mark on top of it. you stick a 3/8 socket in there. its a pain in the ass to break loose.

I replaced the crush washers when I changed my trans fluid, but you can reuse them if you wish. Just lay a flat file on your workbench and then lay the crush washer on the file and with your finger and thumb slide the washer back and forth a few times to remove any possible burrs, thus making a flat surface again.

Use a 1/2" drive ratchet and extension bar(s) with a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter (it's actually a 3/8" drive, not socket that fits in the filler plug). There is less flex in the extension bar(s) using a 1/2" drive, making it easier to remove the plug. Use a 3/8" drive ratchet to tighten plug so you don't overtighten. . .
