I was driving in my friends 2003 BMW 325 (auto) 4 dr and he was at full throttle and when he at shifted at close to redline, i could barely even feel the shift. The next day when i was in my 04 TL (auto) and i was shifting at near redline it felt like i was in a truck--the entire car shifts. Another friend of my mine, with a 04 TSX (auto), let me borrow his car. I got it to shift at near redline and it felt similar to the BMW, 5x smoother then my TL.

Is the TL supposed to shift like that or do i have a tranny problem? Because i could understand if the 3 series BMW shifted a little smoother than a TL, but there seems no reason for a lower-end Acura to have smoother shifts then a TL.

Mine does it, too. But don't know how to explain this... R u sure you felt nothing in 325 and TSX? Amazing...

Engine and Power could be the factors... There is huge difference between TL and other two.




TSX's tranny is different to ours, and that car isn't the "lower-end" Acura. IMHO.





P.S. Never drive friends' cars to the redline...
