I recently bought a 2005 tl with 138,000 miles. I don't have anything showing when the transmission was serviced. I tried to get it serviced and they wouldn't do it. They said it might go out if it had never been serviced. Now what?

 

Go find another garage or DIY it. Look through the 3G Garage.

 

Are you trying to have it flushed or just 3x3? Some shops won't flush transmissions because if your transmission is already on its way out, flushing can finish it off.

 

googling 3x3 ATF and there will be plenty of answer to your question, search is your friend.

 

Do a 1x3 and get the switches done. At your next oil change, get another 1x3. And one more 1x3 at the following oil change.

I believe that most used cars purchased do not have maintenance records available. The exception might be if you know what shop or dealer serviced the car.

The reason that I say this is that I really struggled to find used cars with service records.
