Interesting trade, but if you need the room and can afford the gas, that's OK. The Envoy is a bit more my size. Check your PM.

What's wrong with that. GM products are not as bad as every think they are. Especially the Tahoe's. Those Tahoe's are awesome SUV's with the lowest drag of any SUV in that segment. The quality isn't bad at all either. It's not a premium import like Acura, that's why there's the Escalade. If you need the space, the Tahoe is great pick. Congrats!

I am going the exact opposite route. I am getting ready to trade in my 2003 Ford Excursion 6.0PSD for an 06 TL-AT Anthracite. Granted the X is turbo diesel but I have no need for it anymore. Time to downgrade so to speak. Plus my X is on 37"x20's and parking it has become a real PITA.

Do a google for Tahoe forums, I'm about to do the same thing. Either 07Denalli or 07 Navigator.

You're certainly welcome. What color is your friend's 05? There are quite a few modified 02-06 body style Hoes on there so he will get some great ideas.

Tell him to go into the "garage", link in top right corner of the forums, and choose browse garage and he'll find quite a few black Z's. he won't be disspointed in the site and the info he'll find there.

I am surprised that you received a low trade in value. TL's hold their value quite well... But at a GM dealer, they might not had a strong market for it.

Quite a change to a Tahoe, but it is quite a nice truck and GM does it well! Good luck!

New tahoes are awesome. i was seriously debating between that, 07 Yukon, 04 X5 and the TL. The TL got the best gas mileage and at the time gas was $3.30 a gallon.

You will love the truck and congrats.

Hasn't the Acura TL been in the Top 10 for resale since the 3Gen came out in 2004? Perhaps the dealer just wouldn't give you what you wanted or what the car was worth on trade-in?

I like the design of the new Tahoe though, but you're definately going from one extreme to another!!!

Hope you enjoy it - and the $60 per tank fill-ups.

The tahoe is very nice looking in black only. I just got rid of my 03 Yukon Denali to come back to acura. I had no problems with the denali, I just got tired of paying 75$ to fill it up. Damn it feels good to have gas down to 2.14 a gallon , 2.34 for premium. Good luck with the tahoe!!

We compromised...We have a TL and a Tahoe.

The Tahoe's a nice car. We don't have the XL version as we don't need that much space. We just needed plenty of interior room and 5000+ pounds of towing capacity. It's my wife's ride and it came with a sweet cat-back dual exhaust that makes me jealous. It sounds like a Nextel Cup car crossed with a tug boat.

We have the same compromise in my family except my husband drives the Tahoe and I drive the TL. Or he drives a 15-year old, smelly, diesel pickup that he loves with all his heart. Go figure.

Hmm .. how much was it if you dont mind me asking? I would slightly consider doing the same because I need something big to haul around DJ equipment if I get my little business movin' like I would to ....

The suv looks real good .. I would like to have it too.

This is quickly getting off topic but PLEASE for the love of God do not get a 2007 Navigator. Refer to the Car & Driver (Oct 2006) article. Summary: Navigator... Is... Crap...

That's a unique trade, so I guess you had good reasons. I remember about 20 years ago a friend had a Harley Sportster and took it to a BMW dealer looking for a 325 series. The dealer didn't get involved with the trade (I'm visualizing a Harley sitting on the dealer lot between a couple 740's). Enjoy the new vehicle.

You mean "Car & Liar"--- There magizine is opinion, and bias if you ask me.

Consumer Reports is a better pick, but yes the Navigator does have a reliablity

issue.

As for the new Chevy, AWESOME looking truck. Almost looks like a Caddy!

I laughed when I read this: "my trade in value wasnt all that great, but the price for the tahoe wasnt bad either"

Too bad the Tahoe just lost 10k on value driving it off the lot. A lot more compared to the TL if it was 2-3 years old.

Good luck with the Tahoe. They are nice, take the gas bill with it!

I had an escalade and it was a gas guzzler. It used to stay in the garage all the time because one trip would put me at 3/4's to halfway already and when its time to fill up.. yikes! The TL was definitely the better investment.

we have a TL and a 04 Yukon. Lots of room and a comfortable ride. After about 10000 miles the rattles started. Lots of wind noise, especially around the moon roof. We get around 16 MPG on a good day so it stays parked. Really a weird trade with gas prices. Good luck with that. Don't use the ethanol... it sucks.

Well I've got my 04 Z71 tahoe and just bought my wife an Anthracite 05 TL with ebony leather and the charcoal a-spec wheels. Sweet ride but I love the room of my Tahoe. I'm not a big fella, 5'10, 195, but I have to raise the steering wheel in the TL to get out easily. Kinda cramped from what I'm used to. I like the bluetooth in the TL so much, I just ordered a bluetooth kit to go in my tahoe that wires right into the Onstar radio and goes through the speakers and factory radio like the TL. can't wait to install it.

To the person with an 04 Yukon that started rattling at 10,000 miles. That ain't good. I've got 30k on my Z and not a single noise different than the day i got it.

On the 07 tahoe, Caddy and Yukon body styles, to me the Hoe is the best of the group with the caddy close behind. The Yukon's looks are very well described by the first 3 letters of it's name: YUK! I've not seen such an ugly front end in my life. What an F-up on GM's part. Just my 2 pennies worth.
