TPMS and extremely cold temps

my tires are inflated to 31 all around and when it gets really cold in the NE, it fools with the TPMS. obviously the psi will be less in the tires given it sat overnight in near freezing temps. after about 10 minutes of driving and the tires 'heating' up, the TPMS goes back to normal.

has anyone experienced this? should I overinflate my tires to about 35 and be done with it or is something in line to be effed up? car just hit 450 miles, and to be honest, plethora of other little annoyances with the car. wtf

The recommended pressure can be found on the drivers door jamb. That is the COLD pressure. After the tires are warmed up, you will probably see 34 or 35 psi on the readout. That is okay.

This is actually a known issue. A little search brought up this thread:
TPMS is a bit annoying in cold temps.

Please continue the discussion there.
