Angry Totaled.

Two nights ago I was parked at a friends house on the side of the rode when some idiot in a escalade ran straight into the back of my car and sent it flying almost 30 feet. Completely destroyed my car and totaled it. I'm so angry it couldnt have been in a worst time because i'm supposed to moving next weekend.

Must have been going quite fast as that isn't a love tap. Always could have been worse, you could have been in the car.

Yeah luckily I wasn't in the car. I'm guessing he was going at least 30, he wouldn't say or didn't know. The car ended up in the neighbors lawn.

Wow! I am so sorry that this happened. Hang in there through the claims process...hopefully, all will go smoothly and you'll be able to get a suitable replacement quickly. Very glad no one was in that car...would have made things much worse.

I would bet it was a lot faster than 30 mph.

holy lord that guy must have been BOOKING IT...60 maybe? Did he at least apologize or show any remorse at all? That really sucks man, hopefully insurance can get you a loaner before you move and then you can start looking for a new car...theres a silver lining in every cloud.

Now you have a chance to get the 2009 TL. That's the only way to look on the bright side in this situation!

Glad human life wasn't in harms way. Unfortunate for the TL though. At least you can see the crumple zones in full action. The trunk basically crushed itself, leaving passenger room intact. If people were inside, they would have been banged up and gotten cut by the back glass, but hopefully, not crushed by the other driver kaz the TL took the hit like a champ.
It's like a dog who dies to save his owner.

Good luck with sorting everything out and a new ride.

FYI: He was definetly doing waaaayyyyy more than 30!!

Absolutely going faster than 30. You should get a nice insurance payout and be posting pics of the new whip in no time.

Good god that's nuts man. I'm sorry to hear. That's pretty depressing. You hoping to get your hands on another TL with that insurance check?

My old maxima got rear ended at a red light by a van and the cops estimated the speed of impact 60 mph, and although my maxima flew further than your TL did the trunk wasn't as crushed. So I'd say the guy was doing some good speed! I'm glad your not hurt and hopefully whoever nailed you got pretty banged up.

If that guy wasn't in an escalade I'd say he's lucky to walk away from that crash.

Damn was there any frontal impact also geez

And I bet the escalade had a tiny bump on it, cuz them escalade fronts is way higher than the tl body line... Bet the escalade needed a new fron bumper cover and that's it

Glad you were not hurt. If you are interested, there are a few new 08's around still. Not much selection and probably all automatics. My dealer had a couple last I checked.

Fortunately, the guy was nice and didn't perform a hit and run and actually he was driving his moms escalade. His parents weren't in town but they were considerate and called the next morning and apologized for the huge inconvenience.

The fishy thing about the whole situation is after hitting my car, from the trail of liquids leaking from his car you can tell he pulled over and checked his car out, but then he drove the car home(he lived in the same neighborhood.)

So when the cops got there they went to his house to check the other vehicle out.

And yeah i bet he was going faster.

Also, the cops couldn't do much with the sobriety, because after it happened it was about 30 minutes until he contacted me and atleast another one hour to an hour an a half until the cops showed up. I think he was texting or something.

Yeah even from the pictures you can tell the impact was pretty high on my car, and the guy had no or very few bruises from the wreck.

I do hope to get some good money out of this, and hopefully get another TL or maybe something better

OK, confused. He hit you, left the scene, and then later contacted you after going home? That's a hit and run.

That also means he had plenty of time to dump any booze or drugs that might have been in the car. Did the cops cite him for anything?

Yeah, the story confused me a little too. I doubt he was going 80, maybe like 40.

Glad you're alright, hope to see you on the road soon enough!

I don't EVER park on the side of the road unless there is marked parking spots. I'd like to see the Escalade. He drove it away, huh?? Sounds like a hit-n-run to me. But then, I bet that OnStar got him!! HAHA. "Sir, We got a signal that you just blatantly plowed into someones Acura. Is everyone OK? Are you intoxicated? We're calling the cops, so you better go back and fess up." Gotta love those GM's with "bg-brother" OnStar!
