First off, take it back to the dealer. Your leather should not be cracking this early.

Second, if the world was full of FWD cars and there was one RWD car, the experts would diss the RWD car. Go figure. FWD must be driven a little differently than RWD. Once you get used to it and can anticipate it's response, it's like driving any other car.

My seats also are crinkled up nicely. Not cracked thru, but lotsa wrinkles. I used the Meguiars spray I think it was. I tried the creme, but it just goes right into the first perforations, but works great on the smooth parts. Get some moisture on it and they went away a good bit, but are still there, just a fact of leather.

Leather is going to show signs of wear pretty quickly. Think about a pair of leather shoes. The first time you put them on and take a few steps, there are visible lines that are now permanent. The thing to do is condition the leather and care for it forever so it does not get damaged from the contact with clothing and the pieces of dirt and debris that get into those cracks.

I doubt your leather is actually cracked or split, but if it is you have nothing to worry about. Acura will replace it.

I have this problem as well. Its not cracked, just plenty of creases that make it look like its 5 years old. I was really surprised at this, as my old accord never once creased. It looks like my friends old explorer. I guess it do how tight (or untight) the leather is on the seats? Mine is also on the side bolsters. It goes away if I dont sit in the car for a day or so. Anyone else have this problem?

My car is 2 wks old and i have this. I used some Zymol leather treatment and it seems to help quite a bit.. but after only a wk of using it - hard to tell... ill post an update in another month
i would think that if the leather cracked this soon that acura would take care of it, no?

It depends on what you mean by cracked. If you mean a crease has formed, then no, but if the leather has cracked through and you can see the bolster material under the leather, then yes.

By the way, this is the product I recommend.

It has a great leather smell also

Actually, you'd find lots of wrinkles in any brand new TLs the dealers put on their showroom. And, if you go to BMW, you would see the similar problems on them. But I have to agree 04TL shows this problem easier and faster than other vechicles. Side bolsters are the easy targets.

Lots of ppl or reviews have said 04TL having better leather surface and support. I don't know about this. Only thing I can do is to maintain it harder than ever.

If you really have the serious or groove-like creases. Maybe they're the defective directly by the manufacturer.

I traded a TL-S and MDX for a V70R and 325cic. There's no comparison in the quality of the leather. Hell, the Volvo is untreated natural leather and shows less wear than either Acura did at the same point in time. The BMW leather is incredibly thick and minimally treated so it doesn't show wear as easily. Over time, all leather will show wear lines but it shouldn't be noticeable after one month of ownership.

The older Honda leather didn't have cracks/lines because it wasnt really leather but vinyl. I have three leather jackets, leather in my TL and other leather products. REAL LEATHER does have lines after some time. I think a week is a little early though, so have the dealership check it out.
