Does anyone know the weight of the stock 17" '04 Acura TL wheels?

The ASA KA3 wheels (17") which fit over the Brembos and on back order at the tirerack are 22.5#, they say. It is going to snow soon and I am out of luck until mid-January!

I'm with you on that one... I called the TireRack as well and they said it would be mid-January before any of those wheels arrived?
Any idea on who else might have these wheels?

My not-so-local Acura dealer just called to tell me that an Anthracite / Ebony / 6MT / NonNavi / HPT had finally arrived. I'm tempted to take it, but I'll have to get snow tires on it ASAP as we just had 12 inches of snow - Any ideas for wheels? I'd rather not order another set of Acura 17" wheels.

So far I have not found the ASA wheels anywhere else (not looking that hard though) and I called one place that said they had "lots of wheels that will fit" and I said "no thanks". I think tirerack knows what they're doing and if "lots" of wheels fit they would know about it.

I grew up about 60 miles north of Greenfield...parents still there, buried in snow. Hilly. Here it is flat and I will just stay home if it is terrible out or take the taxi...and wait until mid-Jan for my wheels and Pilot Alpins!

Why not just balk on taking possession of your car unless they swap out the HPT's for the all-season Turanza's? Then, just run the Turanza's over the winter and buy some proper high performance rubber to place on it for the summer. Then you'll have winter tires and some proper HPT's.

I would not recommend using the stock Turanzas as winter tires. They are rated very poorly by many people on this site and many people on the tire rack survey. The tire was 34 of 36 in its category.

Get some real snows, like Blizzaks or Pilot Alpins. I recommend the Blizzak LM22s in 225/50/17 size.

Then, buy the accessory 18s with the Yokos in the summer. That's what I am going to do.

Good point, I guess he does live in Massachusetts which probably gets substantially more snow then here in Indy.

The stock Turanzas will due for awhile when I get my TL and then I'll probably go to a proper HPT and then get a set of snows. I'll research your recommendation, though.

Thanks!

The Blizzak LM22s are good, Michilin Pilot Alpins are good, Pirelli 210s are good and there is a Dunlop that is good. These are all at least H rated. They also all make a Q rated tire which probably is even better in snow/ice but the speed rating is lower and the dry weather (85% of my winter driving) performance is not nearly as good. The H rated tires snows probably work better performance wise than the Turanazas...and snow/ice traction is way better.

Another plus for the LM22s is that they are available in a V-rated snow tire, which I got. Very cool.
