I swear I have little moments with this car every day.

Today I'm eating a healthy lunch of chicken nuggets with hot mustard and fries and sitting where i can see my TL out of the window. This businessman looking guy gets up, walks out to his car and sees the TL, and circles around it once, doing double takes and stuff... a total rubberneck! Then walks over to some fugly minivan and gets in. Poor bastard... haha!


Then tonight I was out getting some groceries and on the way home, I decided to pass this pickup truck at about 80 mph. Pickup owners have a certain personality I guess, and next thing I know he is racing past me at about 95 mph. I just let him go. Not going to stoop to racing a friggin redneck. :shakehead

I know what you mean, it is amazing how many times I have either walked up to my car and saw someone drooling over it or had some guy or gal just walk up and say "Nice Car"

In additon I personally have a Lead Foot. I just like to drive fast. But other people always think I am trying to race them. Little do they know I drive that way in my 02 Suburban too. I drive that way period.

It's all good though let em stare.
I'm not a cutie like the main event so they gotta be staring at the car.

I saw 3 TL side by side, white and Anthracite and black but they all stock with no A spec body kit, so I thought I should swing by and catched up to them and pass all of them with my Anthra with A spec. Oh yes they are looking. Black TL chase me to the exit. Even TLer love to look at TLs!

The TL is a Sexy Car, that's why you gotta stare.

They are not as common though as lets say a G-35.
That is what i liked about it.

The G-35s seem like there a dime a dozen.

yes, it's me on the avatar and I do live in N.B. I see a few TL drivers each day from and to school, sometimes I say hi to other TL drivers too but now I will start winking back at them :wink: lol

I've yet to see a female TL owner in Dallas that wasn't HOT, it is GREAT! Having the same car is a great conversation starter too! hehehe...

I have to agree with that. It was one or the other for me too.
I test drove both the TL and the G-35 about 3 times.

It was a tough choice but the TL interior is roomier, and as I mentioned it just seemed like there were way too many G-35s on the street.

When I went to the Acura dealer, they were out of stock, in fact they had a waiting list. But the Infiniti dealer was overstacoked and were practically giving them away.
That made me wonder?
Don't regret my choice one bit.

 

If the pickup was a Lightning or an SRT-10, I'm guessing that ain't no redneck...and that's a race the TL would lose badly. Hell, I'd try to catch up with a Lightning or an SRT-10 to wink at them!

A lot of my friends complained about my driving style (they said that their necks hurt). I tend to drive fast, and like to punch a little in 1st or 2nd gear from time to time just to put a smile on my face – I guess too many people are acclimated to automatics that they do know what it means to change a gear and punch to 5-6k rpm. A lot of people made weird faces passing me by after me gunning thru 1st and 2nd gear – oh well I do not care.

Yeah, I've only seen a few TLs around Rutgers. Whenever I see one in the parking lot, i always peek in to see if it's a MT or AT. Usually it's AT
How many more New Brunswick 3G TL drivers we got here? We should have a mini meet. (Mainly so i can look at everyone's modded car and steal ideas hahaha)
Btw, sooooo many G35c and 350z at Rutgers...starting to become a lil overplayed here. G35c is still a hoooot lookin' car though.

 

Damn, I own a 05 AT NAVI WDP TL, but the wife drives it. I'm pretty lame, cause I do all the stuff you mentioned! It's such an awesome looking car. Maybe it's just wishful thinking that I will catch up to TheMainEvEnt one day!

 

BTW, I caught up and passed 4 TL's today in my 92 Honda Accord Coupe LX 5 speed. Really, it ain't BS.

Alright, I was in the car pool lane with my kid and the rest of the traffic was bumper to bumper, but I really did pass 4 TLs and I looked at each one. I'm obsessed!

The only cars that catch my eye are the 04/05 TL, G35 Coupes, 330i's (any year). All the other cars are just blah like most of the Mercedes and the new BMW 5s are just fugly!

 

So an F430 zipping by in the inside lane wouldn't garner even a sneak peek from you?

 

Having a classic Harley to tool around the mountains on / Pearl White Sportster Custom=Beautiful Bike and a 99 TL, I'm use to getting looks and comments of envy. Not why I bought either. The Harley was always a dream = then a reality. The TL was just a great deal I stumbled upon in someones garage that happend to be selling for a great price. Well, I'm blessed I have 2 great vehicles!

 

Hell yeah it would...if I've ever seen one on the road. I've seen a few exotics, but never an F430.

I meant in everyday driving those are the cars that would catch my attention.

A tl is a nice car, and probably is wink worthy, but I can almost guarantee you that you wouldnt get the winks if you had a beard or something. Just a thought. I have no current plans to go down to NB(allthough I may need to make some), so going with Treblig

Listen folks! I'll teach you a minor trick and it'll avoid the embarassment from looking into other TL owner's vehicle for 6MT.

The easiest way to tell if a TL is MT or AT is to look at the front tires.

A) If the brake caliper is silver, it's an 5AT
B( If the brake caliper is BLACK, it's a 6MT.

This trick allows you to know other TLs car is a AT or MT on the road

 

6MT if the front wheels are dirty - that also works!

 

Yeah, i realized that when i'm driving i look at the front tires, if i'm parked, i just look in the window.

although i always find it funny when my friends take their finger and run it around the edges, then say, "look! gunmetal w/ polished lip"
