TL vs. IS300

I was leaving my class today, and I noticed a silver(ish) IS300 slammed to the ground with really bright lights (deff not stock) and exhaust behind me at the night. I figured he might want to have some fun, so I take off a little. He didn't do anything at first until I merged into another road and noticed him quickly changing lanes to follow me. After the turn, we were pretty much on a straight road with no other cars, so I see him gaining on me pretty quickly and I hear his exhaust. I decided to go WOT and left him in the dust. I'm talking 2 or 3 cars. I still see him trying to catch up so I let off the gas a little, and as soon as he gets a fender one me, I hit it again and pulled away in no time. Did this about two times until we hit the light, and he decided to turn. Pretty funny...

My car is a 2005 5AT TL with AEM intake and Comptech catback exhaust...thats pretty much all I have performance wise. Planning on getting the j-pipe and highflow cats when I have enough $$.

good kill man....I used to have a 2001 is300 (stock) and it was pretty quick but no way as quick as the TL...my buddy had a fixed up is300 (s/c) pushing almost 500 hp prolly around 440rwhp. For a 3.0 liter car, that was killing cars left and right...that kept up with a rsx type s that was really fixed up...and u know how fast a fixed up rsx type s is.

Yea, I believe you can swap in a supra TT's engine and it will be very fast.

There are a few IS300s at my college and they're always eyeballing my TL.

One of these days, I'm going to run one.

Not really, there is a huge after market for the IS300, you could see an N/A pushing 300rwhp.

Uh... No.

1JZ-GTE: 70 Supra 30 Soarer
2JZ-GE: 14/16 GS300 IS300 SC300
2JZ-GTE: 80 Supra 14/16 Aristo

Th leading number doesn't designate the number of turbos. It's the marker for the generation of the engine.

Also, the 1G-GTE was in what's known as the "narrow-body" Supra, the 2.0 Turbo which was sold here in Japan, but not in the States. Additionally, 80 Supras from 99 to 02 had VVTi, as did later Soarers, 16 Aristo, 16 GS300, and the IS300.

~Cheers~

P.S. The AS200 trim, aka IS200 for Europe, was powered by a 1G-FE, and the RS200, had a 3S-GE.
