A participated in a car market research study today. No test drives but I did get $125 for my time. For one part, they had posters for 107 different cars. Some were current models, some future models. Each poster had some pictures, specs, and price. They had an IS300 and IS300 Sportcross (two separate posters) and both showed 231HP. The IS sedan correctly showed a 5 speed option. 231HP? Was that a typo or did someone let the cat out of the bag about next year's engine?

 

Makes me think its a typo. I mean thats not a significant increase from its current horsepower(Isn't it like 220 or 225 now?) Plus, what kind of number is 231? Why not make it either 230 or 235?

 

Its 215 according to the web site. I thought 231 was an unusual number too. That's why it caught my eye.

 

believe it or not, ther will be a sport package for the IS that has 2 stages, appearence and performance. I think TRD will boost the HP to 225 or something like that, not 231. it looks pretty sweet, but nothing to be affraid of. the damn car is the size of a civic.
