tl vs 535 bmw
tl vs 535 bmw
ok me and 1 of my friends were messin around on the street today, i was sure i was going to beat this 07 535 but he spanked my ass. i got a video how do i get it on here? has anyone else raced 1
Its got the same engine as the 335i, meaning an underestimated 300 hp, its more like 320-330 and it comes at very low rpms. Did you really expect to have a chance? The TL is by no means a slouch, but at the same time its by no means a fast car. If you want to go out and race and at least get a little respect, I'd suggest getting a ctsc or getting a different car that serves your purpose.
it has the same moter as the 335i but with no turbos and a lot less power. and it weights 900 lbs more than the 335. and yea i thought i had a chance. my friend works out at BMW and gets all kinda cars to drive. The auto TL can leave a 328 auto coupe eay. i got a vid of the race i dont know much about computers how do i get it from my phone onto here for yall to see

I havent had the pleasure of running one on the bottle yet. Have more power and am still about 200 pounds lighter. I have taken down the 330HP M3's like nothing though. Those dont stand a chance. Dont think I would stand a chance against a chipped one though.

same output and the performance between that and the 550i is supposed to be close. As I have driven the 550i and 545i, I also need to try the 535i (which was not out when I drove the other two). I understand that the 535i has similar performance to the 550i except without the $15-20k premium.

However, I've seen MotorTrend gets 4.8 sec, 13.3 1/4 mile from a manual 550i. Technically, the 550i is as fast as the 335i.

2. If you increase the boost, the 335i/535i will be faster than the 550i (stock) although nobody has done a direct comparison. However, you can also remap the ECU on the 550i for more horse power (I did mine using Speed Innovation).
3. When similarly equipped, the price difference between the 550i and 535i is about 7 grand. However, the 550i gets the //M body kit as well as 19" wheels. It would cost $3500 to install the body kit for the 535i (parts and labor). By the time you throw in the 19' wheels, any price advantage is gone. This brings us to #4.
4. Buy the 535i if you'd like to save some money and/or want to chip it (Dinan, PROcede or Juicebox).
This topic always creates heated exchange on bimmerfest and e60 forums. 550i camps says it's a better car while 535i camp argues that it's a better "value". Here are some facts:

Appreciate the TL for what it is, a dependable, fun and well-built sedan with good handling. There was a poll on bimmer website not too long ago asking what car to buy if you can't afford BMW. The majority picked Acura TL.
