TL Type S interior pics at night!!
I am looking to trade my 2003 CL-S for either an '08 TL with navigation or an '07 Type S. I know that some of the members here don't care for the red interior lighting in the Type S compared to the blue in the TL. To help me decide on my purchas, I was searching for some pictures of both the '07/08 TL and Type S taken at night. I know I've seen some pictures on the site before, but can't find them through the search function or even goggle.
Can anybody point me to a link or post some interior pics of the Type S at night so that I can see the red lighting? Thanks.

07 tl-s in
I was in the same boat,I hated the red lighting and rims on the type-s. now look at the potential for the red.Not the stock lighting, I did red led's.I have no regrets about getting the s over the base ...........

i have a 2008 type-s that i got in oct 07............i have never been happier with any car..................i have put red front and rear dome lights in and red door panel bulbs in............i also have installed all 4 "ACURA" door sills that light up in red...............between all that and the red that already lights up the dashboard and even underneath by your feet on both sides, and also on top by the moonroof switches this car is unbelievably beautiful to look at inside at night!!!..................just as those pics show!!!..................the rest of the car i love as well........it handles like a dream, has all the toys and options i can ever want and i get comlimented on it everyday and everywhere i go................best car for the money................so i believe there is no comparison to the "plain jane" tls or the blue interior of a tl which are a dime a dozen..............type-s rocks and i highly reccommend it to all................

I just traded my 2001 CL-S for a 2008 TL-S 6MT Silver / Black-Silver interior.. so far i love it, much 'sportire' than the CL, the suspension is much firmer... .. ya I'm really happy i went with the Type-S!
I don't know why people didn't like the red, to me, that was a + for the S over the base... then the list added on. I originaly drove a regular TL and I wasn't very interested, then I drove a fully loaded 335i, and realized i'm too broke... went back to acura drove an auto TL-S, which was not bad by all means, but since the day i got my CL-S, i wished it was manual, so I had them find me a 6mt and they did.

At the opposite side of the spectrum. I must say the Blue Lighting is awesome. I love the color blue, hence I bought a ABP TL. I am sorry but Red does'nt cut it for me. I love power and the 3.5 Might be better than my 3.2. But I like my car better. Type S specs are nice but the external visuals aren't my taste.

The red interior and the bigger engine are just two things different. The overall package of the type-s over the tl-p is well worth it. I wouldn't want to buy the tl-p and later regret what I could of had in a type-s. I drove a non type s for a loaner and didn't like it too much. But whatever floats your boat.

To the OP, I don't really care for the red, especially when compared to the blue. however, if I were doing it over again I would probably go with the S.

The mileage and prices of the cars are actually the same...around $29,500, but the dealership with the S is giving me about $2,000 less for my trade-in. This makes me wonder if getting the year-older Type S is worth $2,000.
I drove the '08 with nav for the weekend and it felt A LOT faster than my '03 CL-S, which also made me wonder if I even need the Type S. I know it's my decision, but would you'all pay $2k more for a year-older Type S over a TL with nav???
Your thoughts and opinions are really appreciated.

I don't want be to rude, but why wouldn't you want to get a more enhanced car if you can afford it? I love the red, I drive a lot at night, and the soft red makes my eyes relax. Type-S FTW!
Yesterday I went for litlte detailing... Every other guy was starring in envy as I was passing by.... A Few G37s even tried to rip me a new one... (nope, it didn't work, driver wins, lol)
Get the TypeS now before the Camry twin joins the 4G.

Look at the resale value for the future, a 2007 TL-S, vs 2008 TL w/Navi, in let's say 5 years, which car do you think will yield a better profit? Limited edition car? hell yes.
The choice is yours... And there is no such thing as fast enough
If you want a comfy luxurious ride, go with the base.
If you want a sport tuned suspension (yes you feel the bumps), and you wanted an aggressive sedan... Type-S... BEST FWD on the market!

Why can I say that? I had a 2G TL-P, was kicking my ass for not going with a TL-S back then... I KNOW the feeling... Even though I added over 10K of mods, I still wanted a Type-S.
Let's all live in peace and harmony... Just think of a TL-S, as a beefed up twin, who gets all the girls

1. Type-S Wheels
- Do not want. They look DECENT on silver and white, dumb on all the rest. I would take any aspecs over these any day of the week.
2. Type-S Suspension
- Again, aspec is better is it not?
3. Type-S Seats (Stitched)
- Do not want. I haven't sat in them, but if all the difference is the stitching, I'd rather not have this either.
4. Red Interior
- Personal preference here. Me? I'm have always been a blue fan.
5. 3.5l as opposed to 3.2l (30hp gain?)
- Ewww, ahhhh, 30hp. Congradifreakinglations. You can make this up....
6. Body Style
- Personal preference here, but I like the regular old aspec the best. The type-s with aspec is just too crazy.
7. Heads/Tails/Sides
- Now this I will agree on, I'd rather have the type-s stuff here then base. But this can be changed. 300 bucks for sides and tails...no biggie.
8. Exhaust
- Hmm, toss up. sure the type-s is nicer, but you can change a base exhaust to your liking just as easily...
Pretty much what I am trying to say is, other then the tails/sidemarkers, I'd rather have a full aspeced base then a type-s. Now whats the cost difference? If you go through all that and the difference isn't that big, go for it. But to me, more often then not, it wouldn't be worth it.

TeknoKing, thanks for the advice. All of your points are well taken. You're definitely right.....I almost purchased an '03 CL-P before I found my CL-S..and I was always VERY happy that I didn't pull the trigger on the CL premium.
I think if the final negociated prices end up $2k apart, I will go with the Type S. If it ends up being more like $3k...then it will be a toss-up. Either car is a major upgrade from my CL-S with 92k miles on it. I realized that pretty quick after having the 2008 TL for the weekend. Thanks again.

Purchase a house with a brand new kitchen for 100K, or purchase a house with kitchen from the 80s for 90K... end result... you want to have a kitchen like in the new house, cost will bring you OVER to rebuilt the old kitchen... Property value will still not be as good as a brand new construction.. Get my drift again?
If you are not looking to mod your car too much, type-s is the way to go... And don't be hattin'

Yes, I do realize that. I can tell from the pic posted by Drigo what the stock type S interior will look like.
Just to be totally clear...the stock led's in the type S are red, right, just not as powerful as what's shown on jumbosizeme79's pic (above) with modified leds. Am I correct?

If you want, I can take a few pics of my interior tonight, so you can see the actual amateur pictures.
Hmm, maybe I can do it during my break, but it's day time...it may not show up that good...

Go buy a base tl and stick a bunch of money in it. You'll be happy until you run a across a tl-s that has a bunch of money in it. Don't forget to upgrade the brakes though the tl-s front brembo's were not on your list.

You guys are annoying.
They're both nice cars, different strokes for different folks.
Don't put each other's fucking cars down when you pretty much drive the same thing.
To the OP:Get what YOU like.
I drive a base 06. If the Type S was out in 06, would I have bought it? Yes. Do I regret not having it? No because the Type S wasn't even out. Do I regret it when I see a modded TLS? Not at all.

And I'd rather have built, not bought. It's what I enjoy doing. I am here on a-zine to look at mods, talk about cars, etc. It's a hobby. Why buy a car you don't really want to mod if you have fun doing such things? Do you get the drift yet?
Seriously, if you can afford a mid-high 20k car, a 33k car isn't any different. There just wasn't enough pro's to go ith the con's when I bought mine...

Seriously though, super modded base vs a super modded type-s. Think there REALLY is any difference? Couple badges and some red lights? K...
