The next off topic post gets a two week vacation. I'm sick and tired of you guys fighting like a bunch of little kids. This is the second thread that some of you have crapped all over on.

Technoking, nice picture of your interior. Don't you just love all the buttons light up at night? On my 05, the led lights in the roof for the lighting of the center area up front are blue. Are they red in the type-s? Looking good.

^ thank you. I wish I took better pix though.

And yes the roof button is red led, actually all of the LEDs are red. The footwell light is also a mellow red. In the beginning when I just got the car, I felt like I was in Audi, but after many hours of night driving, I appeciate the dim red.

In my car there isn't a footwell light in either side. I guess they must of added that in the later years. Is that a type S only thing? My wife's Lexus has amber lights in the footwells as well as well as the door handles. It really is a nice touch and very usefull at night.

I bought a 2008 TL w/Nav 3 weeks ago. I can't say that I haven't been thinking to myself "should I have gotten the 'S'?" But I know I made the right choice.

My last car was a 2005 Evolution VIII - exhaust, intake, tune, twin plate clutch, and some exterior mods. Quite the change right?

The reason why I didn't go with the Type-S and why I don't know if I would if I had to make the choice again is this: The Evo cost too much to maintain (brakes, clutch, etc). It would cost me 300 for pads for that car (Ferodo), more money for tires, more money for rotors, all to keep the performance of the car up. I felt I would end up in the same boat with the Type-S (keep trying to improve the already fantastic performance). Also, all my driving was street driving, 90% of which was around town or highway driving at "normal" speeds. The only time I ever used the performance of that car was on/off ramps, quick dashes to 80 or maybe a winding back road here and there. It was a blast owning that car and I'm happy I did, hopefully I got "it" all out of my system for now (a GT-R would be nice though... ).

For the people who have been saying: if you can afford 36k, you can afford 38k... I don't quite buy that. Some of these people might have extended themselves to get to that 36k car. They may have increased their car payment an extra 70$ a month from where they were on their last car. The extra 2500 for a car also gets carried out in taxes, further adding cost to the car. This could turn that 70$ increase in payment to 110$ more a month. This could be the deal breaker for that person (also depending on how much they can put down/trade in).

The Type-S is a great car. You are getting plenty for that extra 2500$. Ask yourself how much you love the exterior/interior features (or differences) and then think about how important the performance is to you. Then it comes down to whether or not you can afford that extra 2K +. Good luck with the decision. You can't really go wrong here.
