Why do you want new ones? Is deff not something to consiter if they are fine. The 3g has some of the best hid components money can buy from the factory.

Can plug in any D2S Hid bulb. don't need the whole system. most people go with Phillips/osram. but there are cheaper band like morimoto that are reliable.

^^^ yup. Removing the stock bulbs for something aftermarket would typically only be a downgrade. The only bulbs that will yield better output would be the osram svs or cbi bulbs. If your looking for just more blue or purple looking bulbs you will be very disappointed. That would be equivalent of removing some OEM components and replacing them with autozone dura last brand lol. Just don't do it.

^ you wont get that purple/blue color with any bulb, bmw has different lenses than us. the CBi is going to be pure white, svs is going to yellowish.

stock bulb=4300k
svs=4200k
CBI=5k

5k is pure white, below 5k goes into yellow. and above 5k goes into blue. only way really to get the blue color is maybe a 6k but your going to be losing brightness as you go into the non white colors.

I was thinking about this last night driving home in a 2013 TSX, loaner from dealer, amazing cutoff on those projectors.

My TL-S cutoff is blurry and not as sharp as I remember it, although I did a lens retro on my old TL. It drives me nuts!!! I want it like a razor, bouncing up and down… right now it's like there is a fog in my projectors.
I plan to do that on the TL-S this summer, also bulbs with 6 years of use aren't going to put out as much lumens as new ones.

So you all recommend the SVS or CBI?
I haven't bought HID bulbs in a while and when I have I've used Philips 85122+

To the OP - I agree with what everyone else says, use Philips or Osram only, most lumens and none of that garbage purple blue crap - why the hell do people think that is good or safe anyway?

I have the CBI's ,they are whiter but they are like the most expensive bulb. weve got a few threads on here about them, search it up before dropping the 200$. If your brave enough to do it, look up the ZKW lens swap aswell, that will give much better cutoff lines.

Op- you saw the price tag. Personally I'd wait till the bulbs need replacing to get them, but if your going to get new bulbs just for the hell of it those would be a good choice.

I have the zkw-r lenses and that's an awesome upgrade too. Cutoff is a lot more sharp and crisp compared to stock. I'd do that before replacing perfectly good stock bulbs.

No problem at all to do a lens swap, easy as baking a cake! Which I do for a living so…

I don't mind dropping 200$ on something that's worth it, I'd rather do that and get something amazing.

I'm really bad at searching the forums… could you help?

sounds pretty badass too.

I know i'll need a lens swap for a better cutoff but pretty sure I need new bulbs too, they just don't have the juice they should. I'm comparing to my MDX with bulbs that are a year old, with worse projectors too.

If i remember correctly you'll have to peel back the fender well to access the headlight housing to replace the bulbs.

Although I'm not positive as I had my bumper and everything pulled apart.

changing through the fender wall is possible, that's what I did. BUT it was extremely hard, and I almost dropped the bulb. Also I cut the shit out of my arm when doing the driver side. Just take off the bumper, takes 5 mins.

I'm on it. Ordered from TRS. Is Hidplanet still kicking around? They were a huge influence when I did a retro on my Legend many years ago.

Anyway Thanks Nate!

Yeah HIDP is still active, not as active as it was a few years ago, but still fun to browse through.
