So... Im coming down Tierra Subida towards Palmdale Blvd behind a Chevy Metro and several other cars. Everyone decides to brake and turn left into one of the neighborhoods, minus the metro. the lane splits into two, and since he was staying left I was going to change lanes and pass him on the right. He then proceeded to cut me off, so I swing over to the right (after checking to make sure I was clear ) and fly by him. We reach the light and I look over and he was just staring... so i said what the hell and gateshifted into first, turned off VSA and waited for the light.

Now, I have my girl in the car, and shes knows Metroboy is going to get pwned. He has a female companion as well, but shes not too thilled that hes doing what he is. So... the light turns green and i just go like normal until he floors it and put maybe a half car between us. I floor it, spin tires for a bit and proceed to lay waste to this guy. My girl said he had a smug grin on his face as he had me at the light.. but his expression changed after i caught him at redline in 1st, and flew by him in second. Me being the nice guy, flashed my hazards... to rub it in a bit... then I turned off into the Best Buy parking lot and flashed him a peace sign. I dont think he was too happy with the outcome, but what did he expect? thats what happens when you try and race your chevy metro against a TL. Im sure he saw the 'A' logo and figured it was an integra or something. go figure

i know its not an awesome victory or anything but i thought it was entertaining.

-side note-
I know its not a bright idea to race on the streets, but it was late at night and there was NOBODY out.

i raced a chevy cavalier the other day. as i pulled up to the light i noticed the sway bar and exhaust. pulled up next to him, he looked at me and smiled. right then and there i knew something was up. light turns green and we both took off. 1st gear dead even, 2nd gear dead even, low 3rd dead even, high 3rd gear im inchin away, 4th gear i put half a car. not bad for a damn cavalier.

 

i did... and when i shifted to 3rd, i was already 7-8 buslengths away. it was a massacre...

I have the same problem! I always have these sneaky little bastards in their 4 banger clown cars trying to race me too! Cavaliers, Sunfires, Neons (Expressos LOL), Festivas, Corollas! WTF!?

 

That used to happen to me in my Thunderbird. It was my own fault though. My rear license plate frame read, "If you wanna place :silvercup, follow me." . Needless to say, I always won.
