Question TL-S Manual, hard to find in SoCal??

We've been looking to purchase a TL type S, Manual transmission preferably in CBP in SoCal. It seems they are next to impossible to find in this configuration and the dealers seem to want sticker price, around 37,000 for them. Are they really this scarce or am I being led to the slaughterhouse by our friendly local dealerships?

TL-S manual are very rare.. and to find in the color you want makes it closer to impossible. The dealers know there aren't many around and letting them know you want a manual they won't want to lower prices.

Just keep calling around to different stealerships...you'll eventually find one. It's unfortunate, but manuals just aren't in enough demand. It's great to see someone who prefers a 6MT vs. 5AT for the Type-S.

Youll be waiting forever to get it especially in that configuration. I had to wait a month to get my 05 6mt in WDP with ivory and i know ill have a wait for the 08 when my lease is up in a few months. BTW....i work for the dealer!

Try Santa Monica Acura or Keyes Acura- they generally have a few 6MTs. (Thomas, Cerritos and Sierra generally do not have manuals).

Santa Monica has its inventory accessible through its website (as does Valencia), but I don't know how up-to-date the web inventories are.

ehh santa monica....bought my car there...they werent great. Hid many things away from me...like the rear end accident which lead to a car repaint making my car half anthracite half TSX gray There were only 2 6mt at the time i bought my TL (this was 6months ago), might have more but just..watch out for ghetto service.

I live 1min from cerritos acura and i have only seen 1-2 6mt type S, comes with navi mostly so they jack the price a bit...

Call Valencia Acura, ask for Nick Levin in internet sales or send him an email. He'll find what you want at a fair price. He offered me an 08 Type S for 36K. Check their website, they may have a 6mt Type S in stock.

I got my 6speed (Blk/Blk) at Cerritos in late October 2007. I called dealerships in SoCal, NoCal & AZ for about a week befor I found it. Keep looking you will eventually find your car.

There was an 07 6spd Blk/Blk with 10K miles on it being sold privately in Pomona.

Good Luck!

Man, what a deal. They screw you up front for the "rarity" of the 6MT, and then they won't give you the resale value either when you go to trade it in!
Buy a 5AT
You won't regret it later.

It's all luck. I found the exact combo I wanted at the closest dealership on the first try.

So what you're saying is drive a 5AT for the sake of resale and financing issues instead of driving the 6MT TL for the sheer driving excitement and acceleration, especially going 60 MPH @ 5th and then downshiftng into 3rd and going WOT?

I bought my car from South Coast Acura (Should be close to where you live) in November and I just checked with them and they have 4 Type-S MT in stock. Also try having Cars Direct find the vehicle for you. They can get it for you at $33,832+TTL.

I really appreciate all your help everyone. I am a little more encouraged now that I see this car actually exists at some dealerships! It still is somewhat discouraging though that even with the $2000 factory to dealer incentive the quoted prices are so high in comparison to the 5AT.
The Acura community is indeed a great one! I found that out when I started frequenting the TSX boards two years ago when we purchased one.
Thanks again!
