The TL ruined my life!
Ok, I've had a NBP TL for 2 weeks now...
and I've got to say I'm thoroughly impressed by it...
but its ruined my life and I dont know how to get it (my life) back...

My friend told me the local Acura dealer was giving out $25 gift certificates to a restaurant after test drives, so I went there 2 weeks ago on Monday to give it a spin & get the free meal.

So the car just flat out performed, and looked sweet in & out. I couldnt resist myself & sealed the deal instantly. Got it full loaded too -- navi, a-spec, extended warranty. The car (out the door) set me back about $39000. I got it financed and was able to get monthly payment of 590 with 5k down.

My wife freaked when she found out about the cost. Considering I'm a recently unemployed Walgreens assistant manager, I don't usually have much free money to spend. I wouldn't typically buy something like this, but I recently got fired, and received a check for my 401k holdings. So she's upset because 1. I spent money on "unnecessary" luxuries, and 2. because I spent retirement money on it.

But thats not the end of it. I got a dvd conversion on the nav. I can't stop driving it around, racing every car I see. So in 2 weeks I've piled up about 4000 miles, I've smoked a 330i, a 530i, a Maxima, a Mazda6, a GS300. I got smoked by a 350z and an A6 though. Put the best part is I did this all while watching DVD Porn on the Navi Screen and listening to classic gangsta rap on the ELS (Snoop, Dre, Cube, etc).

Needless to say my wife is now mad at me because she thinks I should be looking for a new job, spending time with her, repainting the house, fulfilling my bedroom duties, etc. Unfortunately I no longer have time for any of these activities as I cant seem to get away from my car. I think worst of all was that she called me to tell me she couldn't pick up our daughter from school last wednesday and I told her I'd do it. Well I was in the middle of detailing the car (with Zaino products) and couldnt stop midway thru, so she waited 4 hours to be picked up. I bribed my daughter by giving her some hydro (she's 12, she knows the diff between the good stuff and the cheap stuff) into not telling mom about it so hopefully she won't find out about this incident.

Now you might say, "How has this ruined your life?"
Well, my wife has told me that if I dont get my sh*t together she's gonna leave me. Now I face one hell of a dilemma. I could turn my back on the TL and sell it and go back to the way things were, spending every moment with my wife/family/friends/work knowing I could be happier by cruising around at 270hp...or I could keep doing what I've been doing for 2 weeks, but then my wife will surely destroy the car herself, divorce me, kick me to the curb, and I'll be a homeless bum...

What should I do???
I'm leaning toward the latter option. It might give me a life of poverty, but atleast I'll get a couple more days of racing the TL before it all falls apart

So um yeah I agree with your wife. You are MAPCE! You need to think about your future and finding a job more so than buying a $40k car. Do you really need our advice?

If a car is really ruining your life, how could you let a material thing like that be more important than your family? The love you have for the TL will diminish and wont be as strong. You cant put a car in front of your family. If you have to sell it, do so, but you will take a loss. Is it possible ot keep it, but stop spending money and too much time on it? Making you daguither wait 4 hours is just pathetic.

does sound made up. as i said, he would have to be a father at 13 for tis to be his daughter. not only that, its unrealistic, i guess poking fun at TL owners for their love and commitment to a car.

 

murdock got a point... a car before your family.. i have a 1 year old son and im only 17... sad to say i f***ed up big time... had to much fun... baby mother lefted me and took the kid away from me for a few months and i evenually came to her crying asking her to come back... but now even though im only 17 i dont regret it but i regret losing my baby mother and for the few months....anyways back on subject the tl isnt that impressive to be chosen over your own family... making your daughter wait 4 hrs? you could have finish detailing your car when you got back home... i suggest you pull yourself together... losing your family is the least thing you want to do..

Thanks..I figured some ppl would find it funny, some ppl would think I was in need of help (which is also true), and some would think it was lame (to these ppl sorry for wasting 3 minutes of ur time).
