TL problem almost killed me?

Okay i was going like 50 and slowing down to make a right turn, so i see the car coming straight cuz they had a green light but thier was no sign saying i have to stop on a red, so i turning and slowed to to about 20 to 30mph, and did the turn but when i did the turn i push the accelarator to speed up b/c the car was coming fast ahead behind me. I made the turn at 15mph and pushed the gas but the car slowly went up to 30mph, and i freaking had to smash the gas, and hit vtec to avoid getting hit and they guy served across me and almost hit me. Wtf is all that about does. And this always happens but b/c of this torque less engine it almost killed me. Y is the only way to gain speed is to hit vtec. I cant even pass some one at 45 mph with out hitting vtec, witch is passing 4,000 RPM, and this makes me waste so much gas. My dads gmc envoy suv is so much faster then my car. Wow i can't wait to return this car for the G35.

Without addressing your "VTEC" issue, sounds like you jumped out (made a right turn) in front of oncoming traffic and because you couldn't speed up fast enough, you caused the other car to swerve almost causing an accident.

No, sounds more like YOU almost killed yourself and others because of your negligent driving style- not your car.

If you knew beforehand that your TL had no torque to get yourself out of a sticky situation, why make the turn in the first place? The fact that you had to floor it tells us that you put yourself in that bad situation intentionally.

Go trade in your TL today, don't wait until 2011 or whenever your lease is over.

You are a joke, man... How many posts and threads are you going to make about how fast (or slow according to you) the TL is? I just saw your other post about who has the "fasted" TL on the site...

Allow me to fill you in on something - you bought an Acura, not a Ferarri... It isn't a rocket ship, it's a practical, sports sedan. If you think the TL is slow, trade it in. I'll assure you it's no slouch but apparently you thought you were buying a 950 HP sports car and when the car is unable to get you out of circumstances that you intentionally put yourself into such as the one you posted about, be ready for some negative feedback.

People like you irritate me. You come on the site, bashing the car and then asking ridiculious questions about if you can beat this car or that car (I.E.: Can I beat my friend's Jeep Laredo) Come on, man, get a grip. You have 5 threads that you started in your short time on this site devoted to talking about how fast or slow the TL is... I rest my case.

PS - I love the 08 TL RAW PWR... what's RAW PWR? Clown...

I'm not clear on the situation here. In every North American jurisdiction, if you have a red light, you have to stop unless there's a special turning lane with one of those islands that separates it from the main traffic light, and when there is such an island, 90% of the time there is also a "Yield" sign.

What am I missing?

Every couple days this tool comes on here to stir shit up about how slow the TL is and how much better the infinity is. My guess is he is a troll from some infinity site and if you looked you could find this post copied up on an infinity site with him laughing about how he "got" those Acura guys again.

You can turn on red, unless designated (usually in downtown areas of a major city, not in the suburbs). You are still supposed to stop though, and turn only when it's safe to do so. And needless to say - those with the green light would have all right of way.

So to the OP, you may want to study up on your drivers ed manual - you should have known that it's your responsibility to yield to oncoming traffic, not to bitch because they didn't expect you to pull out in front of them.

His avatar is also fake... why don't you take a picture of your own car instead of copying it from Acura site?

I would just like to add, incase anybody is confused, the reason you didn't have any power is because you were probably in 4th gear trying to make a 15-20 MPH turn. When you slow down in the A/T, the transmission doesn't downshift perfectly for you. It lets you slow down, and as it comes to a certain point, it will downshift. In your case, you might have been stuck in a higher gear than the car would like to accelerate from 15-20 MPHs.

My guess is he was using the sport shift cause it make him feel like a big man and left it in 5th gear when he went to take off.

Accelerating from 20mph in 5th gear FTL.

Definitely an ID 10T user error.

Seriously, TL|GTX, go troll somewhere else. You have nothing useful to add here.

in before it gets locked. to the OP, you test drove and probably did research on how a TL will perform. if you didn't feel like it, you shouldn't buy it at the first place. different engine design has their own pros and cons. some might be lack of torque at low rpm vs some might have huge torque from start.

you drive the car, not you are being driven by your car, know what i mean. you have the control of it. 15-20 mph, if you think you car is going slow, just pop it in 2nd gear, please don't blame on the fine TL.

just my

I think this thread is pretty out of hand now and the OP is getting beat down for his actions.

All I have to say is test drive a car before you buy it, and cancel the lease if you don't like it. Life it to short to live in hatred.
