Really? I thought the new Maxima was no joke. I mean, the 02'-03' easily take most of us on here. I didn't think the 2004 would be any different? That means after my headers this weekend, I can out run Maximas

A couple of 6G Maximas (5AT) on Maxima.org have run low 14s. Although those two might have been factory freaks, do not underestimate any of them.

you can tell if his car is type-s by the engine cover lettering. If it is red, there you go.

coming from a 5.5 gen maxima w/the 3.5, its a fast car especially of the line. you'll never match that car's torque (it puts down ~265 stock, nissan underrates it). With E/P on my old maxima I ran 14.3's all day long with a best of 14.1 on stock tires. The 6th gen's are nearly the same. Oh and my car was also an auto... with a bunch of bolt ons you'll be neck and neck.

That said, I have yet to take on a Maxi-pad with my TL-S w/ H/I. I still think from a roll my TL would take it, but only by a hair.

either way its gonna be a close one if you're a TL-S. you took the 330xi so im assuming u have a TL-S. get some bolt ons before ur friend gets the car. AEM intake, XS headers, and Unorthodox pullies will do the trick for u

your gonna get smoked by that maxi-pad...good luck!

those bmws are deceptive the 330ci is rated at like 225 but its pretty damn quick..especially with a 5 speed. The 330xi is weighed down by the awd crap i supposed and 2 extra doors...

Stock for stock auto Max VS TLS from a roll while Max is in 1st or 2nd advantage Max, 3rd in auto Max advantage TLS, but once the TL gets in that dreaded 4th gear advanatage Max again. Overall they are very similiar each having its strong points in the powerband.

Hello, I registered just to give my two cents in this thread.

I come from the maxima forums and I ran a friend's 04 maxima se (auto) in a 02 3.2 TL non type-s (auto). Yes I come from the maxima forums but was driving a 3.2 TL. I took the maxima off the line by a car length but around 40 we were dead even. After 40mph he was pulling on me. Then on the highway I got walked. :silvercup thats how it went down, I wonder how the type s would do!

Also I launched a bit and had a little better reaction from the light. Also I heard my friend squealed the tires a bit since he was on the stock goodyear rsas.

Welcome to the board!

The TL-S would probably have held fairly even with the Maxima (AT) as the hp difference between the two is negligable, unlike with the TL-P where the Maxima has a 40hp advantage.
