TL in NJ

Any Acura Drivers in New Jersey that has family as a New Jersey State Trooper?
I got a traffic violation and is clearly pissing me off. I was in the slowest lane driving for 2 miles before he came up to pull me over. Prior to that, I was in middle lane switching to fast lane trying to pass a lady. I did that for what? 5 seconds... then went back to middle lane, a mile later I switched to slowest lane (rightest lane) to getting ready to exit out my exit.

any of you know any NJ State Troopers, please let me know and pm me.
It's important...

thanks

(p.s. those who knows me knows I barely drive my TL as I have a daily driver. I hardly drive over the speed limit half of the time)

In new jersey, if you go to court, they will most likely reduce it to an unsafe driving tickey which is no points but a $350 fine. but sorry, dont know any state troopers. You will most likely just go to that towns municipal court!

Go to court drop 2 points.

Plan to be there for a few hours, wait till they call your name. Say present. Then the judge will say "if you want to talk to the prosecutor wait in this line" 50 people will get up at the same time and go to that line. Plan to be there a few hours. You'll walk into the prosecutors office he'll look at your ticket and usually reduce it to something less. So 2 points would go to 1 or 0. 4 points will go to 2. I'm a veteran at this game. Also after this buy a Valentine 1 radar detector.

The NJSP is heavy into pacing drivers (radar off) so radar detectors are not as effective on highways here as in other states. But I also recommend it.

I was on the parkway this morning and I got clocked at 80mph in a 65. I thought for sure I was getting pulled over. Tint all around, tinted headlights and tail lights. But no I thought anything over 75 they pull you over. Jack I dont think it will do you any good now if someone knows a state trooper. What BLKTL1 said is true. A surcharge, but no points. Unsafe driving, I believe you are only allowed 2 in 5 years.

I think your perspective on what a State Trooper might do to help you is very wrong.

sometime it's nice to have a lawyer with you, and freaking expensive too. I got pulled over doing 90 in 65 because I was stupid enough to lend my Passport X50 to my mechanic who was ticket free from NYC to Florida...

Anyway, he was trying to hand me 6 points and reckless driving, which automatically suspends your license, and didn't care that I had 0 points in the past 6 years.

Basically I got a letter in the mail from a lawyer who's probably paying the prosecutor for the info...and I paid em to represent me (since I figured they all on the payroll and as much as I hated it, was my easiest way out).

Bottom line, I walked away with going 74mph, receiving 2 points, dismissed reckless driving, and about $1700 from $1250 lawyer charge and $450 traffic ticket.

As much as it sucks...get a radar detector and keep your eyes on the road, on the mirros, on all the other cars...and the detector will beep if you miss anything...

My recommendation is Escort Passport X50 blue...matches the speedo lights, V1 lacks POP and seems bulky. The arrow won't save you. Hope this helps or at least doesn't annoy.

They can not get you out of speeding tickets once its written. Once its written its in the prosecutors and judges hands.
