In pictures if may appear without the emblems on that the back is too fat. But in person ... it really looks good.

You can use dental floss to remove the emblem, and then use goo gone to remove the leftover adhesive

Yes, you can use the same method to remove any honda/acura emblem. I did this on my prelude and it worked flawlessly.

Car looks nice debadged - just finally got around to it myself .

WD40 works welll to remove the glue residue that is left on the clearcoat when you debadge a car. If you do use it make sure you wash the area after you use it and then wax the area if the rest of the car has been waxed.

One debadging question - has anyone removed the Acura symbol on the trunk as well? I'm toying with this but have seen few do it and I wonder why?

Yeah, you can do this. Or you could use fishing line off a fishing pole or something. but that's a little abrasive. My #1 choice would be to hit it up with a heat gun (like you would use to take off tint) and then carefully peal it off. That way the heat makes the adhesive hot and sticky so then it kinda of melts off instead of rubbing it off.

Then pick up some Paint thinner with mineral abstracts in it from Home Depot in the Paint section (it's like $10), put a dab on a micro-fiber towel, and then wipe away any residue that won't come off!! I've done that to both of my cars and it works fine.

I thought photobucket would automatically make it smaller for me, but it didn't. From then on I made all my pics smaller in posts, ha. I know they were too big and are actually suprised to still see them up. Maybe the file size is still in requirements? ha

On my 1st gen TL the A actually is in with plugs that hold it in. It's not flat like "Acura" and "TL" emblems. So make sure you go to the parts counter in acura and see if your emblem has the plugs on the back before you take it off! Or else you'll need to replace the emblem because there's adhesive on the edges of the "A" Symbol

Thanks - I was afraid that was the case which is why I just didn't try and pull it off when I took the other badges off. When I go into the dealer this aft to check on the Comptech RSB I'll ask them about that as well!

The "A" does have pins or plugs or whatever you'd call them.

I just read this thread and decided to d-badge my TL and i tell you it looks awesome...pics to follow.......wifey has the camera...anyways one thing that made it easier was to take GOO GONE and apply it and then heat it the adhesive losend up really fast.....hope that helps.

I have debadged about 10 cars in my day, and when debadging my TL i have now found the absolute BEST way to do this.
1. Clean the are throughly with window/glass cleaner.
2. Using a heat gun, heat the badges up to loosen adhesives/tape
3. Fishing line or floss in sawing motion*DON'T worry about leaving too much tape on!
4. Use a heat gun and heat up the left over adhesive, it will come off just like gum with light rubbing.
5. Clean area again with glass cleaner

I find it better, faster, cleaner and easier than using goo gone. i think that stuff isnt too good for your finish plus you have to scrub kinda hard to remove excess. This increase the risk of scratching finish. Plus, you don't have to worry about waxing over that area when done.

Yes...I don't know how to post my pics but it sure looks ALOT better in my point of view.

I took those out by my hand and the rest?.. I used the stuff that my sister uses to get rid of

her maniqure(?) that nail paint thing..shit my spell sux

that took me like 10 mins to wash it off.

and color difference? don't worry..

my friend has 2000 TL and just did after he saw mine....looks perfectly same color

Looks good. I was thinking of debadging just the "ACURA" on the left side and leaving the "TL". Has anyone done that? I want to see a pic of it if anyone done it

In my opinion.....this makes zero sense. The car looks no better without the badges. Plus I like the name "Acura" and I think their logo is pretty cool as well. You people must be bored....lol

and thats your opinion. I happen to hate the Acura and the TL logo on the trunk, I think it looks to cluttered. I love the "A" symbol by itself. I think removed emblems give the car an instant cosmetic advantage over others.

Did mine a few weeks ago. I am glad I removed them. Much easier to wash, dry, wax (well, Zaino actually) WITHOUT having to navigate around those things.

After removing mine, I found some light micromarring in one spot that I had caused from trying to clean too much around those things while they were on. But, that is history now, just like those things are history. I thank myself every weekend when I wash that area.

And, just my personal take - I think the car looks more "classy/sophisticated" without the things.
