TL Headlights
Yeah You have to DIY them or speak to JnC or AckTL05 they are well known on here for doing these mods with a great turnaround time. I got my tail lights done by AckTL05 turn around time was about a week. Not to bad IMO
JnC is the headlight mod guy. Here's his thread with all the details https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/custom-headlights-jnc-part-iii-796033/

I want to do this with my 06 base lights, but I read something earlier that made me concerned about removing the orange diffuser, and not replacing it with a clear diffuser. Now I'd like to see video of the turn signal during the day with no diffuser.

Ask and you shall receive. I recorded it in direct sunlight, so obviously it's much brighter at night, but you can still see it pretty well during the day IMO.

Wat. You're the f*#@ing man!
Yeah that kind of confirms my concern about no diffuser. I know its in daylight and still pretty visible from the front, but doesn't look too visible from the side. I already had a guy pull out and hit me in the side (nohomo) when I was making a left turn with my signal on, and I have stock signals/diffusers. I don't want to hurt visibility. Damn clear diffusers $70.

Did you paint the WHOLE turn signal reflector?
That would be why it's so dim.
Most people here partially paint the turn signal reflector to keep the output.

The paint you used looks sick as fakk; nice job!
I'm going to be partially painting my signal reflectors, and using a Type-S diffuser =)
It looks really dim; you lost a lot of output from stock.

Yes, of course it's not as bright as stock, but the vid was also taken during the day and in direct sunlight. I'll take another vid at dusk and/or at night for comparison. Again, the blinking sidemarker mod should resolve anyone's fear of limited daytime turn signal visibility.
The headlights look great though!
Cheers.
Yep, I knew I would be losing a lot of output from blacking out the reflector. I definitely did not want anything chrome in the housings though. You can also upgrade to something like this, which should be significantly brighter than the stock halogen bulbs.

So maybe if I leave a bit of chrome around the bulb as pictured above, it wouldn't be so bad.
Since it's theoretically supposed to be somewhat translucent, I wanted to use this so it wouldn't completely black out the chrome reflector. If you only do 1 or 2 coats, you should still have a good bit of reflectivity. I went a little overboard and did like 6 coats, so it's pretty dark, but I still think it reflects light better than plain gloss black spray paint would.
Thanks for the compliments!

Imagine the chrome reflector:

and for the blacked out look, I blacked out (painted) the full peice other than the top part....so there is chrome uptop and black all around....this helps in reflecting some light and makes it bright....plus I have LED's and they are bright....looks like this:

and this with the stock bulbs during the day:
Thanks for the videos man. I think I'll remove the diffuser and leave some chrome around the bulb, and on the top of the housing. Looks like it would be pretty bright that way.
Now that, is pretty good output =)
If only everyday was overcast lol
Best way to go
