Nice. How much did you have to pay to get the work done?

I know the shop doing it, and its $900 cash. Thats fully stripping and painting bumper, blending the base and reclearing from the firewall forward. Other locak shops quoted me ~1400.00 plus tax (13%)
The guys doing this also did some blending and touchups on my tsx and they are very good

Are you worried about people thinking the car had front end damage?

I dont really get the question, you mean if I sell it?
if thats what you mean, no. I have sold cars that have been in accidents even and it seems that it doesnt turn most people off.
At least not ones I have sold to.
My RSX was it over 8K in damage and I had a bidding war on it and disclosed everything. I think if your honest and It had no Brand or been a total loss., your okay.
-as long as the quality of the repairs is good

^I think he meant if the paint is a mis-match.

Thank god I don't live in Canada. Sounds like everything is so expensive. I only spent $500 to get all of that done before.

Sort of. Anytime you see a repaint the assumption is that there was damage. I know if I saw a respray I would assume damage regardless of what the seller says. That is when he sells it.

Believe it or not, damage is anything done to the car, other then it being brand new. so a chip is actually damage.

Canada has switched to waterbased paints, you should get a nice match, and it is being blended anyways.

there is nothing wrong with respraying a car to clean it up.

So the job could not be better!! Im very happy with the shop and blend. It was an amazing job, very smooth and I cant see mismatch or overspray in any lights!!

So... I could not even wait to get to the shop to change the Trans fluid so I did it in the driveway :p

Well, im a bit of a fail when it comes to computers. I just changed my licence plate cover and also put the hood trim back on. (I took it off before it went into the body shop to ensure the stone chips close to it would be fixed properly)

I decided to adjust my park brake shoes and when I took the rotor off, the liner was crumbling on the shoes< had to do a quick R&R in the driveway as well :s

Im thinking about doing a brake fluid flush tomorrow at work if I have time just because im feeling very positive about the car right now

Yeah, I love taking my cars there! The biggest most well known body shop in town doesn't blend, all of their repairs look horrible IMO. I had a civic they repaired because of a front end collision, I had to sell the car because it looked so fail. Whole front end looks darker.

Be sure if you guys are getting any work done you ask the question about blending, It makes all the difference

Nope, It just a drain and fill, but unlike the auto, draining a manyal gear box gets most of the fluid out and there is not need for a 3X3 style "flush"

There are 3 bolts, Drain, Fill, Leak

Pull the drain one and replace it, open leak bolt and fill bolt. Fill thru filler bolt till it leaks lol, easiest way I can describe it

I changed my clutch about 3 months ago and filled it with MTF, I wanted to try Amsoil,, so far so good

Is there a way to tell if a particular shop is good at blending prior to taking the car in?

Unless you see their prior work, not really. But to me the important thing is that the do blend.
Ask them if they blend the paint into the next panel, if they say no, or butt blend... dont just walk... run away
