A 1999 GTP.. please... Destroy him...
Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP

0-60: 6.8 Transmission: Automatic
1/4 Mile: 15.1
1/4 Speed: 91

This last time slip is a 99 GTP with upgraded Midpipe, Upgraded Pulley, Reprogrammed Computer and upgraded spark plugs... I guess you had to list the plugs.. lol.. He is getting a very impressive 13.859....... However in another slip a guy with upgraded boost pressure and pulleys is only hitting 14.5. However more crutial is the first link, it is to a Stock 00GTP hitting a 15.569.... Which you would comfortably walk all over in your 6mt...
Take a quick look at all of the time slips provided... you should feel confident you will comfortably beat him in your 6mt.. He shouldn't stand a chance if he only has an intake....
Tell him you'll walk him like a dog in the 1/4 mile.... that should get him to throw a little friendly money on the race.. Beers on him tonight..

I wish people would stop posting threads about arguments they have with friends, co-workers, etc. about which car is faster.
As lame as 'kill' stories about highway encounters can be, they are worlds better than threads about people afraid to answer their own question.
If you want to know which car is faster, you know what to do. It doesn't involve the internet or a computer keyboard.

You out trap him bone stock by up to 7 mph. That intake is worth very little.
The key will be down low because they are easier to launch. Race him from a roll and you'll beat the piss out of him if you can drive. Race from a stop and you need to get off the line healthily and make sure he doesnt shut down at 60.

they can be fast, even stock they pull pretty hard. I was on the highway a few nights ago and I was stepping on it and this black GTP wasn't getting any smaller. He didn't catch up, but I could pull farther away either.

Stock GTP's and ones with i/e are from my experience easily beat. My pops who still loves to race has a '00 GTP w/intake, can jump me off the line by a quarter car but when I hit 2nd I start pulling away, 3rd gear it just gets worse for him. With a 6spd you should have no problem whatsoever as long as you don't smoke you tires off the line. Better yet do a highway run they are even worse there.

With a 6mt TL you should be able to pull on a stock GTP with intake, shouldnt be a problem. I know, I have a GTP, but mines not stock. The problem with the GTP is getting off the line with 285lbstq stock down low. With intake, pulley, rockers, 3"DP, and intercooler mid-high 13's are easily obtained, I know because this is my setup. I just wish my CLS-6 with AEM intake felt like it moved
