Sorry I know this is a Silly question, What does TL Stand for?

 

touring luxury

 

It doesn't really stand for anything, just like RL and TSX and the rest of the model names don't, but Touring Luxury is an apt description and maybe that's what they had in mind when they used those letters.

 

When Acura first changed the name from Legend to 3.5RL, Car and Driver reported that "RL" stood for "Road Luxury." They then noted: "How it is that the tarmac has suddenly become luxurious is not apparent to us."

 

I prefer TOTAL Luxury

 

Initially I thought the same...TOTAL LUXURY...then my friend cleared it up for me and said TOURING LUXURY...and then i saw it on one of acura's sites or even this forum and it said TOURING LUXURY...

and come to think of it, TL really isn't TOTAL LUXURY...for that we need a maybach hahahaha

It TL is touring Luxery what the hell is TSX, or RSX, or RDX, or MDX, or NSX, there are only so many words that start with X

 

i think they put X cause it just looks eXtravagant...eXotic...seXy...lol...
